> However the 96% of the worlds population outside the USA may decide buying US made goods is a bad thing for the environment.
What US made goods ? lol... i don't think I ( I'm not from the US ) ever bought something that's been made in the US.
> IE sucks because it apparently has decided that sucking is its purpose in life.
IE's purpose in life is to download Chrome.
Same as Edge's purpose now.
I remember when people talked how cheap it is.. we got 2 micro instances ( one did the work, another one was hot spare in case something happens to the first one ), and the bill at the end of the month was around $200 usd. This was sometime around 2010.
Look what you can get for that kind of money (granted, this was a bit more expensive back then, but amazon is still the same price):
https://www.hetzner.com/dedica...
Now, it would've been cheaper, yes, if my boss fired me, his system admin, and managed all by himself. But he still needed me to make sense out of all of that, and setup everything we have / need running on these instances.
Amazon started this "oh we're cheaper if you do X, and Y" because it's their business and they wanted the money spent their way.
What does agile have to do with it, except make company spend money on "scrum masters" and other nonsense instead of hiring a proper security team ?
While it has some good ideas, i wouldn't attribute improvements in security to standup meetings, runs and scrum masters.
Because in 2017 when they put a word such as "islamic" in something, it's (usually) never naive. In many cases it's reported BECAUSE it's 'ISLAMIC', and people caught up on that, and people are sick of that, which for example, a person like Trump won presidential elections.
Especially if it's coming from left leaning media.
It's actually sad.
TBH, if I wrote the article, I would drop the word "islamic" all together, it's irrelevant. I'm against censoriship, euphemisms, and word manipulation for PC purposes, but int his case.. I would word it differently.
Why subscribe ?
I mean.. just get it at ettv torrents and try it if you like it.
If you do like it, buy a Blue Ray Boxset when it comes out, and besides supporting the show makers and actors, you also own the copy.
If you don't like it... nothing lost, except your time.
> precious metals come to mind, as they have intrinsic value.
Precious metals are no more special than ethereum is, except that it exists as more than bits of information... like rocks.. or birds, and there's a limited supply of it - apparently, which makes it different, not special.
The only thing that has real value to human beings is food including water. So unless you start thinking about trading in cans of tuna, bread and yogurt, drop the 'oh CCs are not special like what we have now' and 'oh but CC doesn't have real value' it's getting boring already.
NOTHING except food and water has any real meaning or value, bitcoin is same shit what we have now but different form. I get to buy food and water with it because people say it's worth X amount of dollars, and then people say that X amount of dollars is worth X kilos of bread.
The only thing dollar is backed by is american military, and bitcoin is not. Bitcoin is backed by people that have no where else to go, call them criminals, thieves, drug dealers, Chinese, whatever. and while these people are alive, the CC will be alive.
And while banks rape everybody every chance they have, I for one will continue to request payments in bitcoins from people I work for, and I'm willing to pay more in fees.. just so I can give a finger to fucking JP Morgan Chase and the rest of the BIGGEST CRIMINALS IN THE UNIVERSE called Bankers that are mocking you every day of your life./rant
Well, considering their 1.2 billion people DB hasn't leaked.. I guess they're doing OK job, compared to let's say yahoo... who have been hacked like 3 times in 5 years ? Or linkedin. Or equifax.. or..
> Are these facts, or is someone looking for a payday?
Neither. It's the Russian agents. Dividing America, in an effort to further alienate Americans from each other, and then take away your freedom without resisting. After that they'll just go home and laugh, loudly, as they've achieved their purpose in this life.
> Less intelligent people may find superstitions (including but not just religious belief) easier to accept, especially if provided by authority figures.
Not everything is about IQ. For example, there are a lot of smart people floating around that really do think God (as described in Bible) exist or that X = Y, or whatever else.
There are all kinds of people. We see IQ as it's ultimate and final metric for whatever, ignoring dozen other things that are equally important but we have no way of measuring them. Emotional Intelligence, Awareness or Consciousness levels (not all people are the same when it comes to awareness of themselves and their surroundings, but they might be good at crunching numbers for example).. etc.
We're just scratching the surface here.. there's ton that we don't know yet and making assumptions like we do know is dangerous and often leads to inflated ego.
Depends what sector of IT, but it's an ungrateful job.
You have to constantly learn and improve. Companies tend to hire younger people they can exploit more. Companies tend to hire cheap barely skilled labor over investing in quality people. Management has no idea what they're doing, as most of them don't understand IT at all.. they just know buzzwords such as Agile, Cloud, whatever. If you're in some kind of NOC, you're basically a plumber.. and treated that way too. If you're programmer you're basically just a drone... and treated that way too.
Etc. Etc.
I've been in IT since 2001, it's getting worse and worse (at least for me) to the point where now at 32, I'm trying to make something of my own (product/service) so I at least I don't have to deal with bosses, management, agile standup bullshit meetings, or discussing cloud providers.
Hopefully I will, otherwise I might commit suicide.
So what if it's illegal ? The only thing government can do is legalize all those things.. and that will never happen. How are they going to clamp down on it ? The more they 'clamp down' on _information_, the more ways people are going to invent to circumvent those and carry as they would, and the more fascist they get, which will anger people as this is not 1928 anymore.. and you cannot stop information from flowing.
I don't care about Assange, but I'm happy he mocks the USG and war criminals in it.
You must be grafting on weekends then... because me... i barely get enough rest to be ready for the next week, never mind starting a bloody greenhouse lol.
Probably an unpopular opinion here... but I found netflix to be nothing more than McDonalds for entertainment. I'm not in the US, so I don't know.. maybe your netflix is better ( geo targetting ) but what I have is bunch of crap tv shows and movies that are rated 4.x to 5.x on IMDB and a new movie / tv show here and there that's actually worth watching.
I only have it because they have subtitles and my GF finds it easier to follow with subtitles, and just this month I switched it to iflix (south east asian netflix with a slightly different business model (they rent out shows for 6-7 months for distribution) that charges $3 per month and I get more content + older tv shows and movies which I like to re-watch. It's the same shit... but it's $3 dollars.
Still, I'm on a verge of shutting everything down and just giving up on modern day 'TV' entertainment. It's full of condescending political bullshit about feminism, LGBTQXYZwhatever, political correctness, etc. It's not entertainment anymore, it's slowly mutating toward some sort of brainwashing propaganda, and I just don't want that anymore.
I recently rewatched Back to the Future 1,2 and then by accident Demolition man... and man... I remember when I was kid how i hopped for the future, now that I'm living in it.. I would give anything to go back to those times.
I understand not all people are the same, and I know people that don't eat breakfast... however, for me.. I'm just not right if I don't eat. I feel weak, dizzy, and I cannot wake up properly ( i do not drink coffee or other stimulants ), sometimes I get a headache that doesn't go away until the next day.
Simple breakfast such as cheese, slice of bread or (not sweet) croissant and tomatoes work nicely. Doesn't have to be a full english fry up. Who has time for that ?
Many people use, or want to use cryptocurrencies, because banks are such hypocritical assholes that are basically running the whole rigged game. They don't like BTC or any other thing that they don't control.
I will pay more in fees, wait more time, generally receive worse service if I can just avoid dealing with banks.

Wow ShanghaiBill, that must've been the smuggest post I ever read, or at least in a while.. on internet.

2.5 years old.
Good to show who UKs real bosses are though.

Wish I was you.
No, it's just attempt to normalize the usage of these stupid devices.
It improved bank accounts of the big pharma.
That's what kind of people they are.
Martin Shkreli was just blatant and showed their true nature which they hide in public normally. He didn't.

Well, you can then just as well hand automatic weapons to any racist violent organization .. and use that as an excuse.
