The Red Cross also sued Hasbro for their "Ratchet" transformer (transformed in to an ambulance) - it initially had a red cross sticker which they forced Hasbro to remove.
The VW story is true - Hasbro also can't use the VW Beetle for any Bumblebee toys - which is why the recent "classics" version of BB is a generic Beetle-esque car.
It's called touring and selling merchandise. Also, with marketplaces like CDBaby and iTunes, distribution isn't the issue that it used to be. I know I now have music from TONS of new indie artists that I've found on MySpace of all places.
unless of course you replace the ram yourself. A steady hand and a putty knife will suffice:) Also, a nice thing about the mini is the CPU is socketed. When prices get down to reasonable levels I'm going to pop a Core2Duo in mine
"Actually, Apple competes with their Mac Mini. ($599 and up) The problem was that the reviewer doesn't consider such low-end offerings to be a good value."
Which is too bad considering the Mini is quite a capable machine. If you make sure to get the maxumum 2 GB ram it works very well. I use mine for DVD ripping/converting (Handbrake rules!) and WoW when my wife kicks me off our main system.
Well as someone who uses a PC and a Mac can I just be half smug? And I don't recall pushing Macs on anyone or declaring the superiority of any platform. I replied to someone making a snarky and undeserved dig at Apple.
How many times does it have to be said? The DRM on music purchased from iTunes is the fault of the record labels not Apple. Apple is trying to get the lables to buy in on non-DRM music. The "iTunes lock-in" is FUD plain and simple.
It may be state law but I see cops in downtown Portland flash their lights to run a red light and then turn them off all the time. Of course these are the same cops who tasered a elderly one-eyed woman.
Did you even look at what you wrote? "Even if it is due to humans, it's still natural since we are part of nature. Humans don't live outside of nature simply because of our technology." So, we shouldn't do anything about it? Well, cyclic extinctions appear to be part of nature too...but I don't really want to be caught in one of those.
But how do you know if a restaurant serves transfats? The only way to protect consumers other than the outright ban would be to force all the restaurants to post the nutrition information of all their dishes (like the fast food chains are supposed to do). I would think that would be a more significant burden on the restaurants than the ban.
Actually they do pay the money to ROMS - all the RIAA has to do is prove ownership and ROMS will hand them the cash. The RIAA would rather sue it appears.

Except that the parents of bullies were probably bullies themselves and see no problem with it.
"I'm sure it can't. Mac OS 9 and Mac OS X are completely different architectures, much like the difference between Windows 98 and Windows XP.
Yet oddly WinXP can run programs designed for Win98."
Well, if you want to get technical - OS X can run OS 9 software - to a degree. Moreso if OS X is running on a PowerPC chip rather than Intel.
Been many people who have been able to put a Merom in to a Mini and from what I've seen there are no cooling problems.

How about one warning people about the dangers of morons with legislative powers?
Um..yes. The story you mention was posted the day before April 1st and if you read the article you'll see the agent in question is named Lirpa Sloof.

You do know that modern Macs use bog-standard Intel CPUs yes?
Don't fool yourself, the 'freedom' you have is just a leash - pull too hard and they will strangle you with it.
Shuttlesworth is independently wealthy.
Please tell me this research isn't being done at Fort Wyvern

Not to mention the "paper" that this article is in is the same college rag that published the lovely editorial "Rape only hurts if you fight it".

Or use your own - like the 9/11 hijackers did.

Quite frankly, any putz capable of using a screwdriver should be able to replace an iPod battery anyway. It's not rocket science.
