Do items still last forever in EQ? The EQ economy is terrible because once you get a great item, you NEVER have to worry about it breaking/wearing away.
Another new wireless monitor device found!

Wireless Monitors?

Holy shit, this must be the new shit of 2002! I just went to www.thinkpad.com and found a whole slew of wireless monitors. Leave it up to the folks at IBM to even incorporate a wireless PC with the wireless monitor!
I hope they get some bluetooth access to my wireless monitor so I can sync it up with my old 1990's style wired monitor computer.
You can have internet access in your kitchen NOW with an Audrey for ~100 bucks. I have it and it works great. I use it as a terminal to control the mp3 player, bring up my Perl based recipe database, caller_id application.... etc.
I remember checking Zdnet and News/Cnet every day for the latest on new internet startups, newest hardware, etc. Now, there are hardly any new articles on Zdnet or CNET. It seems as though those sites are just links to buy hardware/software.
Truthfully, Cnn,/. and palminfocenter.com are the only sites I check on a daily basis.
[palminfocenter = I'm waiting for an all in one pda/phone/mp3 player]
... so then Bush would start launching our elite forces in outer space. Maybe Nasa could doodle some cave holes on the craters of Mars... I'm sure we would have a special op team there in a few months to erradicate any possible martian terrorists.
I made my own by running a wire from my linux server to my home stereo. I then wrote a Perl web interface to madplay which controls the mp3 playlist etc.
I can start playing MP3's from my Audrey, laptop or even a Palm VII.
Personally, I found it a lot of fun and really didn't cost anything besides the wire. It's also a lot of fun to start playing an MP3 from work while your wife is home;-)

In HS I had a teacher in the Biology lab that would use the emergency eye wash hose to wake up kids that fell asleep in class. This one dolt got it 2x, although I think the 2nd time was a fake.
In College, one of my CS professors would throw chalk at sleeping students. I only got hit once.
And lastly, this one time in college, my friend behind me tried to peg me with a paperclip and missed and hit the professor in the eye. It was pretty funny since he was a small little guy and made believe nothing happened.
... if you screw up Episode 2! On the bright side, if this turns out to be another jar jar menance, we can always have faith that Matrix reloaded and LOTR 2 won't suck.
Hrm.. if Lucas could digitally remaster jar jar out of the next DVD release, that would be awesome.
Where is the funding behing Speedpass? Is it from Exxon?
After the Exxon Valdez disaster in 89, I swore never to buy gas from Exxon again. However, since the merger with Mobil, it's almost impossible not to. It seems as though all the major gas stations are now Mobil. I'm not sure I would want to further extend their reach by using their speedpass device also.
Thanks to an old article found on something called "hack period", we found a reference to an old Earth based satelite launched ~3000 years ago. After tracing its route, it apparently, got stuck in the Kardarese trolling nets in 2030. They were nice enough to hand it back and we have since put it in the ISM. If you're interesting in seeing it for yourself, it's on the first floor next to the Mars rover and Hawking's Fusion Engine.
As always, donations are welcome but not mandatory. A donation of 6 credits will give a free holocube of Earth's History of the last 5000 years, including the historic holo-sim of the first contact with the Radiams.
How about you get an old Teddy Ruxpin and make it into a router. You would input the route tables by developing a custom inteface to his screen reading technology.
Either that or stick a few firecrackers in his head and measure how far away his bits were blown.
A few weeks before @Home service was disabled in my area, I already got switched over to Optonline using my existing cable modem. I just had to reboot my server [not that I run one using a broadband connection *whistle*] and got a new IP addy which was on Optonline's service.
Anyways, a few weeks before, they sent me a conversion kit which included a brand new cable modem! I thought that I could use my current modem, but eventually that stopped working and had to switch to the new modem.
I still have the old one... I guess it makes a nice paper weight. Needless to say, I was very happy with the transition. I should add they didn't charge me for the new modem.
I had a choice a few years ago to either get a job at Priceline.com or join a Fortune 10 company. With all the dot com hype a few years ago, I almost picked Priceline. The idea of working for a young company, lots of young people, great stock options, Capt Kirk almost lured me over.
In the end, I went with the Fortune 10 job and am I ever glad I did! I consider myself lucky that I work for stable company and still have a home life. They let me work one day a week from home, which allows me to spend the day with my daughter.
Some people thing that big corporations are evil, but I find them to be very stable with deep pockets. Plus, if you do a good job, exhibit a professional manner and act normal [you be surprised how many people I seen who got turned down for a job because we thought they were a little flakey] you'll excel.

Let's just hope that the kid doesn't end up like the 3rd clone in Multiplicity.

Personally, I would love to consolidate all my devices into one alla Treo

PLEASE add wireless to these devices Sony. PLEASE. Don't leave us stranded with Palm's i705.
;-)
It doesn't have to be high speed internet access, just throw some of that i705 wireless capability on one of these models.
And while you're at it, add a phone

Even better, let only those who subscribed be allowed to pick the Cmdr O'Neal option!
For 500 bucks, they should throw a palm interface in there to monitor the body temperature and how much heat is being generated.
How cool would it be if you can sync up your body stats to a website.

It's amazing that he would lower himself to be in the season finalle. Especially after his stellar role in Evolution.
The only thing I like about the X-Files these days is the song that Bree Sharp did about it.
