Corporations thrive because of government, not in spite of it. Without the law protecting their "intellectual property", feeding them fat government contracts, etc. corporations wouldn't be nearly the uncontrollable monstrosities they are today. So in fact corporations DO need the law to collect power.
The truly great moments are when they rip on one movie using a joke referring to another, completely unrelated horrible movie. When Hercules jumps over a railing in Hercules vs the Moon Men and Servo yells "Gymkata!" that's just sheer brilliance.
But unless you've been subjected to the horror that is Gymkata (which MST3K oddly enough never covered) you'll never get that joke. I know I didn't get it the first time. After seeing Gymkata myself, it's just that much funnier.
Between World of Warcraft and the Diablo series, Blizzard has proven that there are tens of millions of gamers who game SOLELY for the objective of collecting incrementally improving loot.
If Too Human fails, it means it's just a bad game.
Idiot. Who do you think provides the supplies that drive the US war machine? If the US government declared war on the populous, who is going to pay the taxes to support the military? Or supply their food? Or manufacture the weapons and ammo?
And there are those of us who are unwilling to pony up $50 to take the family to a movie no matter how good it is, and will happily wait a few months for it to come to DVD at which point I'll get it for under $2 for the whole family. ($15/mo Netflix subscription with ~10 rentals each month)
How did any of these upper level executives get to their positions without understanding a basic concept like the supply/demand graph and the effect of price? It's not an all or nothing proposition, though I'm sure in their eyes I probably am a filthy pirate for allowing my wife and daughter to watch DVDs without paying a separate rental charge for each set of eyes watching the screen.
There's nothing liberal about modern liberalism. The term has been hijacked by leftist authoritarians.
Now we in the US have the unfortunate position of having to choose between leftist authoritarians and right wing authoritarians, both of whom want to run your life.
From what I read of the first game, and now the second one, Fable 2 will be what Fable 1 was supposed to be. It wouldn't surprise me at all if they two games were extremely similar, with added depth in Fable 2.
I enjoyed Fable 1 so I'm really looking forward to number 2 to see how much deeper the world is.
At which point Google can fire their employees just as Viacom did theirs, and the issue is closed. How can Viacom expect a cash judgement against Google if Google remedies the situation in exactly the same manner Viacom did?
Government solutions give us things like minimum requirements of corn-based ethanol in your gasoline because: Nothing is quite as intelligent as using your food supply to haul Chinese made goods around the country.
I have a CIO subscription and while they are filled to the brim with ads and "Well duh" articles, every now and then there's a gem worth reading, if only to make me think.
I'm just starting out on my managerial career. After almost 15 years as a software guy, I'm now the IT Director at a mid-sized company. Having come from the tech side, I appreciate the articles that have to do with managing and relating to people. Now, I'm not a total geek, I do have some social skills. But every now and then I run into articles which give me a bit of insight.
Sounds like the CIO wasn't doing his job and implementing documentation policies to make sure there were no esoteric mission-critical functions that could only be handled by one individual on the planet.
And now we get a.25% sales tax increase in the cities to buy more buses, or some shit. Nevermind that they just jacked up our taxes not that long ago to build a goddamn stadium that nobody but the wealthy team owners wanted. Good thing we don't have bridges falling down or anything...
Out of line? Bullshit. If people were against this sort of thing Bush wouldn't have had a second term.
And if Americans were against this sort of thing Bush II (McCain) wouldn't be the Republican candidate.
But they do, Bush did, and McCain is. I'd say most Americans approve heartily of this kind of thing, as long as it makes their tiny minds feel safe from terr'ists as they watch American Idol.
And just so you're aware, I am an American, and I do think China and Russia are horrible governments. In fact, they're so horrible, why are you trying to measure us against them? I'd hope we'd be a darn sight better. Too bad we're not.

Don't forget women almost always get custody over the children and then rape the father with child support too.

You think some cop is going to know the difference?
You've never actually held a real job, it would seem.

Advertising is two-way.
Purchase the advertised product and you've said yes, don't purchase it and you've said no.
Congratulations, you've had a two-way conversation with an advertiser.

Even with the new /. preview feature my English skillz is gud.

I don't see him whining anywhere. Given your despicable of reading comprehension, I'm surprised you're employed at all.

I believe WD has 640GB on two platters, meaning they should be able to do a ~1.28TB drive anytime.
I'm fairly sure about that anyway. I think most current 500GB drives are 2 platter, with the 1TB drives being 4.
Why would you need cameras? Just re-render the scene for the director's cut.

Wow, that is disgusting. Yet I'm not surprised it was done by the US government. It's disgraceful what American's have allowed themselves to become.
Gravel would be preferable.
