They wanted something death people would perceive as a car.
I think you meant to type "deaf people". And I think you meant to mean to type "blind people". Y'know, the ones that would get clues about their surroundings by listening to the new artificial sounds for silent-running cars?
But, see, it's a video game. They've given up and acknowledged that the violence isn't real. But, look, it's totally implied that naughty things are happening between those two guys when the camera fades to black!
...they could pass some, not even a lot, of that back to their suppliers and conditions there would improve...
That is assuming that the suppliers would then pass that money on to their workers. But why would they do that? Is it because only Apple is a greedy corporation, whose aim is to make money, and all other companies (suppliers) are benevolent, aiming only to improve conditions for their workers?
NATO officials are reluctant to publicly state who was behind the attack, but The Telegraph says China is to blame. The publication quotes classified briefings in which military officers and diplomats were told the evidence pointed to “state-sponsored individuals in China.” The Guardian agrees, quoting a security source who says “the belief is that China is behind this.”
They said the production model will be about the same size as a SmartCar. A little larger, actually. This is a half-size demo model.
My question is this: If it is programmed to not exceed speed limits, what about times that you need to put on a burst of speed? Before everyone jumps in saying you NEVER need to speed, here's a scenario. You're going through a green light. Someone on a cross street decides they are more important than stoplights, and runs through it. Sometimes, you could slam the brakes to avoid them, sometimes you're already in their path and need to speed up to get out of the way. Surprise! Your car won't let you do that! And you're in a tin can of a car, and are smeared across the front of that Hummer H3.
Dang it, AC, you sound a little insightful for a bit, then you propagate the nerd stereotype. It's supposed to be "I feel kinda dirty, I'm gonna go home and SHOWER now."
Well, in your example, you clearly had to travel twice as far in the second example. It took 3 trudges in the first example. The second example was 3 trudges, open a door, then 3 trudges!
Even if that is the case, that you get the same price via an iPad app/eBook, after factoring in selling the book later, that sounds like a win to me. You'll have the book later, if you ever wish to peruse it again, and you can search/highlight/unhighlight parts of the book. Also, you have justification to make your parents buy you an iPad!
Hauling a fish line is very easy, it's not the same as hauling cable. You just tie a kite string to the bot, have it crawl through, then tie other end of the kite string to the CAT5 and pull it yourself.
This was true, but now there are iPhones with no money down: AT&T's iPhone 3GS is free with contract. Granted, that means you're looking at someone willing to drop at least $70 a month on a phone plan (cheapest voice plan is $40, plus $15 for minimum data plan; oh, my bad, iPhone 3GS is $1).
I'm guessing this is because there is no practical alternative to planes. To travel overseas, your options are planes and boats. For one who needs to be a lot of places each year, a boat isn't feasible due to travel time.
And Detect Life. Don't forget the Detect Life. Once you become the Archmage, or get the Wizard's Tower in that one DLC, just create a spell combining the two to last for as long as your magicka can sustain, and for as far out (for Detect Life) as you need to not be spooked.
Also, once you hit level 12, start running Oblivion Gates. (Level 12 is the highest auto-level for the sigil stones in Gates.) Save when you reach the stone, and reload until you get the one that can enchant gear for Chameleon (I think Transcendent?). That's the quickest way to get to 100% ninja.
It's amazing what you can remember about a game you haven't played in about 3 years...
A distracted biker can be a danger to drivers around them, if the driver has to swerve or slam on his brakes to avoid killing the biker. Or are you saying we shouldn't risk other cars at the expense of one distracted biker?
I don't mean to take one side of the argument or another, but this is a point that I didn't see made. Yes, bikers violate traffic laws. Yes, so do drivers. Not all bikers are bad, not all drivers are bad. The danger possible with a car is potentially greater than a bike, but not always. Butterfly effect, man.
Yep, it's cynicism to say that judges can be bought by corporations with buckets of money. Judges are about justice, right? So they have to be impartial to the almighty dollar as well as to the truth.
Not necessarily. When dealing with a big player like AT&T, it could just mean you only paid off half the judges getting up to SCOTUS, and forgot to pay off the Justices. Or didn't pay them enough?
Vana, I'd like to buy an L...what do you mean, I can only buy vowels?
Weird. You must read the same tech news site that I do!
http://yro.slashdot.org/story/12/05/23/0156226/sci-fi-writer-elizabeth-moon-believes-everyone-should-be-chipped
Also, in case someone hadn't read that story yet, and is outraged at Elizabeth Moon's comment, they were asked for controversial sound bytes. She just happened to give one that was publicized, and criticized.

I'm pretty sure you are completely naive about what goes on their.
Their.
Their.

And that it's only £100,000, not a million? 1,000 x 1,000 pixels, at £0.1 per pixel...they're doing it wrong!

For such a thing with Netflix, there's http://instantwatcher.com/. You can see new and noteworthy, browse by genre, etc, or go to the expiring soon section: http://instantwatcher.com/titles/expiring
Yeah, he did say *Thai* hookers, after all.

Pick your own analogy:
So, when the PS3 came out, there were how many hundreds of PS3 titles already available, because you could play PS2 games on the original PS3?
So, when the XBOX360 came out, there were how many hundreds of XBOX360 titles already available, because you could play XBOX games on it?
So, when the Wii came out, there were how many hundreds of Wii titles already available, because you could play GameCube games on it?
Are you a terrorist? No, I am a jihadist.

This is slashdot. Shouldn't that be "...go out, find a 3D TV, and buy a friend!" ?
Let's be a little more realistic, especially since WinMo is already dead.
Apple killing Mac OS is like Microsoft killing XBOX. The hardware revisions are about as timely, even.
