    Police, lawyers, judges etc. aren't said to BE a higher standard, but they are expected to hold their behavior to a higher standard because of their position within society.

    Dukes, Earls, Princes and Kings of old were a higher standard because they said so. They weren't held to any standard but their own for the same reason - they made the rules.

    Step 3: Arrest hundreds of people, declare a major kiddie porn ring busted, receive promotion.

    The transfer rate of the files seems to be rather limited as well. My upload was at 12 kb/s when I usually have and upload in the 100s of kb/s from this connection.

    Yeah, I'm sure they notice, and Apple's interface is slicker. (Back to the "Pretty Fruit" theory.) Generally speaking, they aren't geek users, so the underlying functionality of the OS isn't the concern. I do know of one geek user who prefers Apple; he's married to one of Pixar's tech support staff.

    Are they buying a different OS or a pretty box? Not to overgeneralize, but Fruit are pretty, and many of the Fruit owners I know bought it because it looks good. They have no concern for the OS.

    The device also shows faults on 'partially' functional PSUs. The PSU may provide enough power to start but have faults that result in other system dysfunction.
