    Got me a Roku box and it has Netflix (which is adding more recent films and features as we speak) and Amazon streaming, it has everything else the PopBox has plus other features like news, old ass movies, and syncs with your iTunes movies and music. It cost me less that $100. I should by a PopBox for more and giving me less? Que Lastima! It seems the Roku box is Swiss Army knife

    you have to give them this one. The "Gray Lady" isn'tthe hippest news on the planet, but you have to admit they're right. Would YOU buy a Windows phone over Android or iOS? No of course you wouldn't. Most people on /. are into linux, open source, etc., etc. Even I installed Ubuntu on a home computer that I put together as a TV box, and I'm 63!

    I agree. MAYBE the e book readers were a bit more intelligent and took notes or high lit things they wanted to remember, as I do. I don't scribble in the margins on paper books. Sister Mary Frances would rap my knuckles

    I'm never buying a Windows Mobile device again. Ever. I used devices using PPC 2002 through Windows Mobile 6.0 and had problems with each, mainly the soft reset dance. I now have iPhone, and while not perfect, at least works .

    I'm a retired pharmacist and thought it might be fun to work part time at a Radio $hlock selling gadgets (which I've always loved). The last Christmas I worked there I was told that I would have to sell THREE accessories with every cell phone sale. At least three accessories and my job depended on it. We were told that when we sold a cell we would have to pick the three without even asking the customer if they wanted them and bring them to the counter as if they couldn't exist without them if they had this phone.

    So what's the big deal? These guys aren't the first, won't be the last to try this crap.

    I quit RS, and I'm my own boss selling stuff that I don't have to hold a gun to the buyers head to make a profit.

    Give a damn about those workers...in China? Since when has any company who manufactures their products in China ever really cared about the workers? That's why they manufacture in China, cheap labor they can look the other way at.

    OK, first we had a brain cancer scare, now we have a "it's the cause of the bee population declining".

    The first one I believe is pretty much groundless, but the second I'm not sure. First of all we DO have a problem with a decline in bee population which is causing a problem in agriculture. We don't know what is causing that decline, but I think we better find out damn quick.

    The problem with keyboard is this: Not every country uses the same alphabet. That's one reason the OLPC project couldn't make their target price of $100/unit. With a tablet that alphabet can be fixed with software rather than hardware and Q. E. D. you CAN get the price down to the original point.

    In addition, I heard somewhere that it will have at least one USB port so you could plug in a keyboard if you wanted
