seems like all they really are buying is little more than the domain name for napster. everything else is likely garbage to them with the infrastructure they already have.
i see a lot of site are running very old versions of apache (1.2.x era). what keeps these people from running "# apt-get update;apt-get -y install" at least every year or so?
some of these exploits are serious killers... yet keeping up to date with the patches is almost always ahead of the game.
so silly to have spent the time to run unix and then drop the ball by not maintaining it.
doesnt he newer PIX os handle this enough with its snazzy access objects?
No offense, but how do you normally configure the PIX... via telnet or with a tool? The tools out there are quite robust for multiple pixs, networks, policies, and so on.
wasnt seti having problems with a lack of sufficent funding recently? something to do with not having enough computing power to process all their data coming from the clients?
if so how can the seti project itself help this other project? other than an advisory role?

thats this would be against racespace's AUP... but the trickets i opened with them didnt go anywhere. This 'service' is really nasty with the amount of email addresses is must produce.
this guy did this in march... techtv had him on the show screensavers even. they looked at all the game consoles in the same way (people in his phd program).
didnt apple squash all the people from making themes based on their gui asthetic look and feel. Seems to me that microsoft could just squash this if they anted to due to the XP look-a-like.
all vital technical system are duplicated onboard. They are duplicated in a very odd way in that they have the same spec of processors, and electronics and wiring components from two sources. Not just buy two from the same manufacturer and rid them together. No they buy two from different manufacturers (that have proven they have no upstream shared source) and they rig them together.
This is supposed to make the likelyhood of a phantom flaw unlikely to bring down the plane.
what sort of identification do you need to present to fly your own plane from point a to point b in the usa?
i know you have to file some plans and what not with the airports and agencies involved. But do you need to inform them of the identities of the passengers and such?
is it lack of activity or its it merely an optimization of the path ways. i dont think my brain is 'active' as much while driving compared to a 15 year old kid's brain who is just learning.
scan files for this 'loop' (i have never encountered it) or for a known checksum of a bad file (which would be gpg signed from some niffty person) which is auto downloaded.

the bbc/pri recently (last week) had some good reporting on why that is recently.
but in essence it seemed to be unpresidented corruption by many people at the local level. not all of which were involved with ether other knowingly.
thats sounds very interesting and logical, unfortunately very contrasted with that email that was sent.
obviously they just alienated that 'customer interest' your speaking about when they basically say they wont be selling the untaxed boxes.
its almost worth my conversion for that outcome as well

attack this like spam or a virus:

seems like a small perl script to me.
