The more I work with regular people and computers, the more I realize non-technical people SHOULDN'T USE COMPUTERS. I had a customer today ask why he couldn't log into his account. It would help if he had registered first. Non-technical people just Don't Get It (TM), and don't have the inclination to try and Get It (TM). I'm not trying to troll or be flamebait, but most people don't care enough about computers to learn how to use them properly.
Good point. Though I have a question: how can somebody "price fix" their own product? I thought price fixing only applied to companies working together to keep prices high. I mean, you don't see them accusing Ferrarri of price fixing a Modena, right?
There's an EU anti-trust investigation ongoing into unfair practices by Microsoft. If MS can sell Windows and Office cheaply in Thailand, one of the EU's questions is likely to be "Why can't you do that here?"
Looks like MA is worse than NY when it comes to the average amount of state paxes paid. You guys in southern NE should pay more attention to NH's style of spending (don't).
Actually, in NH, this kind of violence is quite rare. The problem is all the people from MA coming up. Of course, I live in this area, and EVERYONE makes fun of the town of Rochester (pop: 33,000), even the people who live there.
How do we know that the person's parents aren't rich because of hard work and intelligence, which could be passed on down the line? Intelligence is often inherited, and a good work ethic can be stressed.
It's certainly not a guarantee, but I don't think it should be dismissed out of hand.
But the Shocker takes three fingers!
We could just tell women they're as equal as men, and then they wouldn't feel the need to buy things "just for women."
Yeah, but that's only if Jesus doesn't want to take His shots first.
"Dammit, my computer won't let me infringe Microsoft's copyright!"
your "targeted ads" are going to be discarded because someone thinks they're spyware, maybe the ads should be re-thought?
Consumer, of course. Benefits of the many over the few... in this case, anyway.
And just look at the low crime rate as a result!
Oh, wait...
that only those games published for FreeBSD would be dying :-)

If profits are going up, that means the company can afford to at least keep the prices the same, right?
Except for Sweden, all of the countries on that list had dictators in control during the lives of millions of people that live in the US now.
Besides, the UK tought us well for gunboat diplomacy, don't you agree?
Now, who couldn't laugh about Iraq on the UN disarmament committee or Sudan on the human rights committee?
Well, yeah, unless they went to the UK ;-)

Because it's what the market will bear?
Aren't the successful CIA operations the ones we never hear about?
You're assuming faith and science are mutually exclusive.

Does anyone REALLY think stock price has anything to do with logic? It's simply a perceived value.
>>Nahh, the EU could just announce that they're not going to enforce Microsoft's copyrights for the duration of the ban.
Wouldn't that be against the Bern Copyright Convention, and thusly, the same WTO rules the world wants the US to adhere to?
Maybe the EU should start putting some bucks into Linux now so the switch won't be so drastic WHEN it occurs.

Damn straight. If the people in MA and ME are dumb enough to live there, we're gonna get 'em for everything they're worth.
>>I'm not sure on the details of this, but by the article, it seems that Bill Gates is now a criminal in Israel.
So, when do they send the Mossad after him?
We might be able to Slashdot the US Treasury Dept.

S/He forgot to add the key words: marketable skill.
