I know everyone hates the guy who brings this up on every article even remotely related to meat, but there are plenty of benefits (it's healthier, meat is incredibly wasteful to produce and whether or not you agree, some people think that killing animals for pleasure is immoral) and few if any drawbacks (except for the inevitable "But I like BACOOOOON").
I'm actually pretty disappointed by LoTRO going F2P. DDO (another Turbine game) was dying and had no choice but to make the switch, but LoTRO was (as far as I know) doing fine.
I was considering going back to LoTRO after a long break, but now that they've switched to the "kids with mommy's credit card rule supreme" method that's not going to happen. I have no problem with games supported by microtransactions existing, but it's pretty tiresome to hear people go on and on about how it's the best MMO payment option since sliced bread.
Should snuff films also be legal to own, in your view?
(not the OP) Absolutely.
The reason that child pornography is illegal to own is that it does encourage the production of child pornography.
"I wouldn't normally rape that kid, but I would if I could legally upload it and get mad props from random people on the cp-ftw.com forums." Now buying (or worse yet, commissioning) it is a whole other thing.
I believe that the laws prohibiting possession of child pornography have been shown to reduce the production of same.
You "believe that it has been shown"? Do you have any actual statistics, or are you just making stuff up?
a government with properly issued warrant shutting down websites.
I think the issue here is that the only reason people were generally ok with letting the US have that level of control was that they weren't supposed to kill access to a website for everybody on the planet simply because it was breaking a law in one country.
Arguments like "but it's located in the US, so it has to follow those laws" don't really work here since the whole point was that it wasn't supposed to be controlled by any one country, but it was too much of a hassle to make it properly international as long as the US behaved.
Yeah, better make sure you have the latest version of Windows and Norton AntiVirus for your next government mandated checkup or you'll be kicked off the internet.
There's a difference between "My burning plane is about to crash" and "I'm stranded, but I know enough to live off the land until I can figure out if I can get myself home or not".
All of the weapons you can buy can be acquired (relatively) easily by playing.
However, they also introduced "item sets" which require a certain combination of weapons and a hat (a previously cosmetic-only item) to complete.
Hats are very rare in-game (even more so if you need one particular hat to complete a set) which used to be fine since they never did anything until now.
As sad as it might seem to some, not everybody needs to spend several hours/evenings every week with friends "down at the pub" or whatever the kids are calling it these days.
Or everyone could just become a vegetarian/vegan.

SC2 has no lan play, no chat channels at launch, etc. BNet 2.0 is completely different.
That doesn't have much to do with actual gameplay, but rather the overall user experience.
Wouldn't it make more sense to have them sit in the back so that other students wouldn't be distracted by them?

"Different games attract different people."
No shit.

You wouldn't download a car...
Whining about how you will be modded flamebait not because of the merits of your arguments, but rather because other people suck is flamebait.

"Cyberwarrior"?
Really?
Hence:
You can buy and SELL items in game for $.
No thanks.
I'm guessing they won't be censoring female nudity.
Of course, they never claimed to be doing this for anything other than financial gain, so I guess it's not really hypocritical.
That takes like ~5 seconds to turn off. 15 if you don't know where to look.
What exactly do you mean by life?
A hobby?
Social interaction?

Isn't this usually the case with similar substances? I always assumed this was how it worked.
I'm bored, let's fuck some animals up. I'm sure we can disguise it as science somehow.
Sadistic asshats...
Monthly limits?
Never had any of those.
My ISP recently bumped everyone up to the next tier of speed and lowered prices for every customer.
No, there were no sneaky contract changes or ToS alterations.

I disagree with paying kids for good grades because it incetivizes cheating, and it removes the main reason for learning: it's fun.
Not all kids agree. Screw them?
split up by reasonable people and virginal nerds
You callin' me unreasonable?
publishers could lower their price by 4 times ($50 -> $12.5)
Yeah, that'll happen.
