    Don't get your hopes up. The violence is not caused by diamonds, they are just an expedient currency for local warlords. If diamond prices plummet, they will soon find an alternative. (Gold, drugs, bootlegged CD's you name it)

    I've got about 40 gigs of movies and documentaries shared on K-lite. All of them are public domain and downloadable from the Moving Pictures Database on Archive.org.


    What is the point of sharing stuff that is already freely available?
    If people want that stuff they go to archive.org

    (Although is is nice of you to provide mirroring services for free)

    No, you're not. To run linux you need the linux kernel. No kernel,no linux. X11 is not part of linux, and yet with only an X11 server, I can run Gnome, KDE Gimp and most other programs available for linux on my iBook (I am running Open Office right now as a matter of fact, neatly minimised in the dock :-) with no linux kernel on the entire machine.

    TV rots the mind... specially in the crucial early years... if your typical day is get home watch 2-4 hours of TV than you are falling behind your potential...
    No TV may have been beneficial for you academically, but judgeing from your post, it seems that it hasn't stopped your thinking from becoming rigid, dogmatic and ,dare I say so, a little arrogant. Yes, there is a lot of crap on TV, and from what I've heard there's even more on US televison than here in Europe, but cutting yourself off from your culture (however moronic that culture may be) probably does more harm than good. Go read some Thomas Pynchon or William Burroughs and try to be a little less judgemental.

    true story: After Playing a lot of Splinter Cell, I walked into a dark room in my house and I actually tried to turn on my night vision.

    After that experience I stopped playing that game for a while (and felt rather silly)

    notebooks only draw full power at the time when they're switched on (when the harddrive, floppy and/or cd are spinning up) average current drawn by a laptop is about 0.8 A, so 15 watts seems like a reasonable figure.
