I have like 50 CDs in my collection, not much, but its music I like.
What I do have is 4GB of music! I don't really need to hear new stuff. Sometimes the radio in my car or a song at a party will get me back on Kazaa to find more music, but other than that, I dont need more music.
And for all you Britney Spears bashers, she's going to be the Madonna of this generation.
Its the only show on TV I can consistantly laugh at. But I'll admit that Im not accually watching it, gotta love Morpheous. It's a TiVo on my computer.
The site seemed to be advocating the use of violence to solve means. Information on how to cause havok and insitute anarchy doesnt sit well with me and I dont seem why this is an issue.
If the site was about peaceful protest, eg marches and sit-ins then I'd have a problem with it being shut down. But it wasnt about peaceful protest from what I can gather. So I beleive the investigation is fully justified.
It said the average income was 2200? I got 500 for my account with a 56 and a 54, oh well.
I think the "study" was wrong. The researcher probably looked at what everyone in EQ had and not just the ones that were involved with ebay. If everyone in EQ was selling, prices would be much lower I believe.
And it will scare the hell out of me when windows comes up and says "Warning: Refering to our product or its likeness as a 'peice of shit' is against the EULA and carries a $500 fine. Your passport account has now been charged."
From my position posting a bois from the xbox on the internet is just like offering warez. The bios is a peice of software that microsoft is selling as a part of the xbox and posting it on the net for no paying customers is a crime.
I dont understand why you would congratulate MS for not prosecuting. This is slashdot, we get bent out of shape if someone misuses GPLd code.
Some of the obsticles in stores require you to go around them for various reasons. How would you use a shopping cart? How would you carry the bags out of the store.
If you have a car or a bike your not going to be using it imho. I can see popularity developing if you can do tricks on it like a stakeboard or a rollerblades. And how would you "pop a wheelie" in this thing you jump the curb?
This thing looks big and clunky, it will never become popular.
Unless it can be carried around as a handbag and is light enough for grandma to carry it might accually be popular. Those razor scooters seem like a pain in the ass to carry around when your in the store. The same goes for bikes and rollerblades when you arent using them.
On the other hand, the same can be said for a car. Except that cars have parking spots and bikes have bike racks and that explains why they are more popular to use than any other type of mechanical transportation.
Can someone explain if these would convert the hot arizona desert climate into a powersource that also has great solar potential?

Windows XP comes with a feature that allows you to transfer the documents and settings you want from your old computer to your current one. I cant remember what it is called off hand but it lets you do it from 1 harddrive to another or over a network. I found it easy to use when I upgraded so I assume that what you are describing isnt a problem.

I think a better example of what computers will become are cars. The power users will upgrade them on their own(tires, engine, etc), others will just buy a new car. Isn't that how it is already?
People think CDs are to expensive. The action of not buying music because you want to send a message to the record company is flawed in todays culture.
As a teen it's almost expected that you listen to music. This combined with people's need to fit in is the reason people download songs off the internet.
If you never saw a movie you'd never be able to understand why some people say the things they do. As a kid I didnt have cable, it took me over 7 years to realize all the jokes that my friends repeated were skits from saturday night live. People can't stop learning culture or it will make them social outcasts.
That being said, the reason I pirate music is because without it I would become uncultured. Imagine if you were talking to someone about september 11th and you didn't see the world trade centers fall and you didnt see all the people holding up signs looking for loved ones. Your emotional tone would be different than popular culture and Im willing to bet the person you were speaking to would get the impression that you were a heartless bastard because of your lack of culture.
Ok, so we remove our need for crude oil from middle easy countries, then what? They get more poor and suck away all that red cross and UNICEF money into their black hole of an ecomony.
People get ticked because our political stance with oil producing nations in the middle east. But the sad fact is. Their entire infastructure is based on producing oil. If you disagree with me, show me one product that the middle east produces besides oil sand and terrorists.
Once we are done sucking the cheap labor of asia dry we will move away from crude oil and create a massive amount of cheap labor in the middle east.
And this brings me to another point. The next "super power" in the world will be in south america. They have EVERYTHING going for them. They have no need for imports and they still have enough to export a large amount of potential industry.
But these are my views and I they are jaded, so sue me.

As an engineering student I can check out any MS product except office for free. I can also waste my money on the academic version at the bookstore.

The images are hosted off site. The slashdot affect is on lucasfilm I think. Ebay is serving pages just fine.
