    Was this whole scheme dreamed up because of dependency hell? Like your current distro has no package for a particular binary you're interested in. So you need to compile it and it needs a dozen obscure libraries. One of those libraries news a few more to compile and is currently broken. Or is it a rip off from OSX?

  10. Yeah right "instantly". Half the time you type the next letter of the word you're looking for and the results disappear. Then when you finish typing the word then you see what you're looking for. Windows file searches are the slowest fucking thing in the world. There is a program simply called "everything" that searches all your drives in real time.

    Never see them on a desktop but blocking them via phone is more difficult. I guess you could root your Android and add a hosts file.

    Linux has the same problem. People who write software can't ever stop updating things. At some point you reach the design pinnacle and from there on its downhill. A hammer from today still looks like a hammer from centuries ago.

    Yeah you're really worried about fidelity when that DAC is right next to a bluetooth transceiver and likely next to a switching power supply. Do you get cleaner power from the batteries when you charge them through a $2000 lightning cable?

    Just wait until boot arguments are considered obsolete like traceroute for example. This will get merged into systemd and you will have to issue the commands at shutdown instead of at boot time.
