    Some cops enjoy the conflict with the crowds. And some on the crowd will enjoy the conflict with the cops. I'm sure the majority of both would rather things move along peacefully.

    Someone from wall street probably put into the mayor's ears that the protestors needed to go. The cops were probably instructed to arrest a few and some of the cops are having their fun with it.

    Protesting wall street is pretty useless. They'll do what they always do: try to make money. The change needs to come in regulations and prosecution on what we'll allow them to do and to punish them when they break the law.

    Is it just me or do these super high skyscrapers look out of place when the surrounding buildings are so small? It seems they are more concerned about the record than the overall skyline. I also wonder if western tourist would be well received there.

    Probably an offshoot of defending the tribe. Easiest to see these days are at sporting events. There must be something in the brain that will make us stand and fight for our "side", even if it's in the wrong, that links back to defending your tribe to ensure your genes keep going.

    Amazon already has to pay taxes in states that it has a physical presence.

    I think the solution is for Amazon to provide the states with sales total for each customer from each state so that the state can audit as needed. Once the process is setup, it shouldn't need to be constantly updated like a tax system would. The knowledge that the information is going to the state would force customers to be honest with their use tax statement.
