  1. Downgraded Pluto, now downgrade TW Hydrae on Study Concludes "Planet" Was Just Stellar Spots · · Score: -1, Offtopic

What is the criteria for a planet to be called a planet? They keep downgrading every "planet". Can't they study the stars/planets, analyze and make a final decision? Or do they just want to make a statement every now and then to be in the evening news?

  2. Cellphones and America on Canadian Firms Get Behind OpenMoko/FreeRunner · · Score: 2, Interesting

Hmm, from what I've noticed, most cell phone companies are not based in the US. Europe and Asia constitute most of them.

Anyyway, I'm really excited about this as much as I'm frustrated about the number of SDKs to pick up, Symbian, Windows Mobile, now iPhone SDK.. Google's Android and then this!

  3. Not only with IT jobs on Are IT Security Professionals Less Happy? · · Score: 0

Every job involves looking at positive and negative sides, not only IT professionals.

If you look at a cop's job, the bad thing is he/she has to sometimes think like a criminal in order to catch one.

If a boxer wants, he has to look at his opponent and examine the negative points in order to capitalize on them. Same goes with other sports people and professions.

Nobody is less or more happy. Move an IT professional to a different career path and he'll be complaining about that as well (yeah, my former IT colleagues cry about their new jobs ALL THE TIME).

  4. Cheat code for even Sudoku?? on Solving Sudoku With dpkg · · Score: -1, Offtopic

Whats the point of using cheat codes to solving Sudoku? Doesn't anyone play a game for just the plain fun of it?

  11. Microsoft Firefox? on Firefox To Get a Nag Screen For Upgrades · · Score: 1

Mozilla Firefox finally going the Microsoft way.

Nag, nag, throw out popups forcing you to use the "latest and greatest" browser. And then finally, the WGA screen telling you what a bad browser you have (Firefox 2) and that you HAVE to get Firefox 3, or else... I better not say it!

Well, its her fault anyway. She knows what to do now - use a LiveCD. :)

  17. They took my job on My Job Went To India · · Score: 5, Insightful

They took my job; they took my job; they took my job.

The American companies are to blame, it has nothing to do with America or India. If Dell, HP, GE outsource to India, don't buy their products anymore. Simple as that. But don't blame the poor people over there trying to make a living with what the CEO of Dell does.

Anyway, Python is a great tool, yeah.
