And a bunch of clean-cut models wearing clothes from the Gap isn't how they sell their products.
Actually I read an article in business magazines that thats been their downfall lately. They are losing market share fast because Oakleys aren't the fashion icon they once were....now they are just relegated to sporty people who need their FUNCTION and not just the looks.
Actually over my vacation this summer I did this, except I installed tightvnc locally on all my relatives machines and connected to mine 800 miles away.
They were impressed. My family isn't too technoliterate but they understood the concept: me using my machine which runs a different OS in a different state over the internet.
If windows wasn't so inherently insecure it would be useful for remote repair but I've found it doesn't do the job well enough on Windows for that, as I prefer to boot clean, etc.
I like the type of articles but the "journalism" is horrific. The submitters can sometimes barely write a complete english sentence and the editors are even worse. Not to mention ignorant comments like: "Expect to see this in 4-6 years". Sure. I'm sure everyone will be out for touch sensitive carpet. Solution in search of a problem...
Anyways. I don't much like k5, is there anything else out there? OR can someone start something:)
Jesus christ, model releases are for when you use images in the PROMOTION of a commercial product/service, etc. Please know of what you speak. There would be very little to no photographic art if you had to obtain a "release" from anyone and anything.
Backend database software? Are you trying to complain that there is no Access or something? Just run a frontend to mysql and all is good. There are many good ones out there. If you just want them to learn how databases work and manipulating them, then the backend can be managed by the teacher.
Hardware requirements? This is a phony argument. It is easier to tweak a Linux system to run well because there is less automagically installed and running. Ive run KDE on a p166 laptop before, albeit a little slowly but no different than windows. The beauty of linux is that even if the school was stuck with subpar hardware they can CHOOSE A DIFFERENT WINDOW MANAGER. Chances are though, the computers now being deprecated or atleast 500mhz which is more than enough. How can you even say Linux is hardware expensive without feeling stupid? I've yet to see XP run well with 128MB of ram, yet I can do magic with Linux under those circumstances.
You are a fucking idiot. Basic economics don't apply to monopolies. Court convicted or not, MS is a monopoly. Go to any electronics store and tell me otherwise. Is it a product of their success, yes. Is it good, no. Should it be allowed to stay a monopoly, no.
What are you talking about? The time taken on the initial install, (you can walk away for compiles bub) is more than made up in the time you save searching for packs, dl them and dependency checking. Once running it's no less stable than any other system. I mean. I installed once, which granted with X and KDE, etc took some time but after that its just on. You can start from a stage 3 which is pretty highlevel and go from there.
But as others have said, Gentoo is about control and configuration, not compilation. Thats more of a requirement for the level of control.
I love the reno 911 episode where the british cop comes over to visit and tells how they dont use guns there. He then proceeds to beat the shit out of a speeder.
the flipside of intent is negligence...people often forget that
hunters can be charged for killing someone even if they didn't intend. IE: thought it was a deer...shot just missed and hit someone. You are supposed to be a little responsible.
reread your books he is "bad" in the sense that he wants power, but he is good to his brother Caramon and even the rest of the DL group. Read the books, Raistlin undergoes moral changes and challenges. He is not cut and dry.
Sorry. You are wrong. You are viewing a child that has already been tainted by home life and more importantly the school system. Visit a laboratory school at any university and see whats up. Children WANT to know. Once you empower them, there is nearly no end.
Do they necessarily get excited over the bland shit you throw in their face? No way. I don't even at my university classes - where teacher apathy is even more apparent. You have to package it into something they will enjoy.
That said...it's a great amount about environment: be it home or school. There is not much you can do if the parents do not foster a learning environment. But that is not that big of a deal...because like this book seems to be leaning to: we need uneducated people.
We need dropouts, we need barely graduates, we need them. I for one don't want to be cleaning toilets with a college degree. We are a class based society and there isn't much we can do about it. The other choices end up concentrating too much power in the government.
My professor for an awesome intro physics class called 7 Ideas that Shook the Universe played part of the audiotape today for the class. He said the easiest way to describe space was through that:
"Space, Is big. Really big. You just won't believe how vastly hugely mind-bogglingly big it is. I mean, you might think it's a long walk down the road to the chemist, but that's just peanuts to space."

I never got far on the game, but boy did I try. Had it on Tandy 1000. Kept the boxes and stuff and even picked up the boxes, etc for an apple II version...thinking they may one day be collectible. Atleast theyd make a nice decoration.

Ummm....no WIFI is secure from that anyways. Those packets were already clearly sniffable in the air.

I consider the telephone an open network.
At any given time anyone can contact anybody.

You'll have to buy new books anyways...How else will they fleece you?
I think VOOM has more HD channels than that.
