The legislature has the power to establish and abolish every court with the exception of the supreme court. This means that if an activist Judge is getting out of hand the legislatures job and responsibility is to abolish that court. If a court decides to actually hear this case the Legislature should abolish the court. Any court willing to entertain a suit like this should be abolished with prejudice. The side effect of this will be that no court would be stupid enough to take on another case like this and would readily slap down any lawyer stupid enough to attempt another suit like this!

Just 8 HDD's could turn that number in a pure linear read test. Yes, I know some of you are going to say that well... thats 8 drive this is just 1! let me include you on a little secret! SSD's are exactly RAID-0 devices when you consider internal devices. That is how they get really fast when it comes to reading large amounts of data. However... the truth comes out when you put an SSD to a 1kb read & write test. You can bring even a good SSD down to 5MB/s of throughput. Now to put that in perspective, the very same test on a HDD can easily bring it down to 0.5MB/s of throughput.
Even if a single HDD could turn out 1 terabyte per second it still would not be able to touch an SSD in real performance or in perceived performance. And here is why. Go to your OS system folders and look at how big the files are. Over 50% of the system files are under 100Kb in size. Now how fast can an SSD get that file to you vs an SSD. Keeping it simple a good raptor HDD will take about 3ms and the SSD would take about 0.1ms. That is more that just an order of magnitude faster. It is easily 30 times faster than the HDD. Now lets pretend there are over 5,000 of those files to read!
HDD read 5,000 x 3ms = 15,000 MS equal to 15 seconds of time you have to wait to get all those files opened! If each file is 100Kb then you will have read 500 Megs of data over 15 seconds which is roughly 33MB/s. Even though drives like this could do 120 Megs a second, it only gave you 33% of its peak limit.
SSD read 5,000 x 0.1ms = 500 MS equal to about 0.5 seconds of time you have to wait to get all those files opened! If each file is 100Kb then you will have read 500 Megs of Data over less than a second which is roughly 500MB/s. Of course a SATA bus can take about 260+/- Megs a second so it would take more like 2~3 seconds to get that data opened to you, but it is still much faster than the HDD's latency and you literally get much closer to your drives peak limit.
In the end result, in real world applications just a single SSD can out perform even 16 RAID HDD's if the transactions are small and numerous! Which coincidentally, actually happens A LOT on every system whether it be a desktop or a database.
Now considering that for $800 you can easily get about 4 60 gigs SSD's with 200MB/s read and 130MB/s write speeds each you will not only have a very nasty fast drive that is 800MB/s Read and 520MB/s write in RAID-0 you will also have 240 gigs of space which is about 3 times the capacity for the same price! You could even get some hotswap and a RAID 5 for some redundancy and 180 gigs of space!
Face it, this sort of technology is just not 'ready' yet. Keep to the SATA bus. It still has plenty of bandwidth for LAS applications and is in no need of going anywhere!

Unless Julian himself did the work of taking these documents from officials by hacking or circumventing some security he should not be considered guilty of anything. The person's at fault are those that handed these documents over to him. They are the one's at fault.
I notice that our government officials are very good at making laws that "appear" to kosher with the constitution when they actually are NOT. Lets make it simple. If you don't like the first Amendment and its freedom of the press then you just make a law that says possession of "classified/government/secrect" information is illegal as heck. This way, you can maintain your image of supporting the Constitution while not having to fear it. You can classify the fact that they take a crap each morning as a security precaution and make it a capital offense if that information is given to the press!

This shows that we are missing (not exercising) important controls on our judicial system. One of these controls are secured within the Legislative branch. The legislature has the power to establish and abolish every court with the exception of the supreme court. This means that if an activist Judge is getting out of hand the legislatures job and responsibility is to abolish that court. If a court decides to actually hear this case the Legislature should abolish the court. Any court willing to entertain a suit like this should be abolished with prejudice. The side effect of this will be that no court would be stupid enough to take on another case like this and would readily slap down any lawyer stupid enough to attempt another suit like this!
When was the last time a court was abolished for stupid stuff like this? Does anyone know?
Reason can be used to remove all manor of liberty.
For example! I can reason why they need cameras in your bed room to make sure you do not murder your spouse! I can reason why they need to be able to hold you indefinitely without just cause to make sure you are not a terrorist.
The problem with the people at large is that they forget that their government is composed of humans. If you think that your own neighbor is unqualified to dictate how you live your life perhaps one should be every bit as suspect of the government which happens to be composed of humans that are most likely NOT your neighbor and quite possibly on a spectrum of morals, ethics, and values that you do not exist on!

Lets take the requirement to install caption devices in theaters. Instead of the disabled having to pay for themselves, everyone gets to pay! There is nothing left of a nation that one heralded the word "Liberty" when we start forcing people to pay for everyones else's problems. Lets also take into account the recent law that the Consumer Product Safety Commission helped to get passed. Everyone has to test their toys for lead. This sort of nonsense is killing American Industry and Productivity.
Did any of you stop and think about all the dynamics that lead to American's losing jobs to over seas markets that get to avoid this nonsense? We are intentionally crippling ourselves and making so that only big corporations are able to be productive! Every time we pass a law that makes you feel good we destroy a mom & pop shop's ability to be competitively productive!
Use your brains because your hearts are not functionally capable of determining what is RIGHT OR WRONG! Sure I would like to see people with disabilities get more out of life, but not at the expense of everyone else! Where is the LIBERTY in that? Where is my responsibility to the diseased, the disabled, or the poor? If I have any, where will the line be drawn? Does my responsibility stop at 10% of my income, does it stop at 50%, or does it stop at 100%, or what ever % decided by the powers? If the government has the authority to levy upon me, via taxes or rule of law, anything that requires me to expend my fortune to assist another in anyway, then that Government has discarded Liberty and assumes authority that only leads to corruption.
We should not do for others what they should be doing for themselves! No longer does the American citizen ask what they can do for their nation, they now ask what will their government take from another and give to them!
Liberty is dead, and I fear that its restoration will not be able to won again via Election, but instead with the blood of tyrants and patriots as required by the metaphorical "Tree of Liberty".

We already have the power to accomplish what this bill indicates, yet I hear no elected officials even remotely advancing ideas to that end. We only need to get the general ignorant population from voting in people with special interests... namely any candidate from any party! George Washington warned everyone about the evils of a party system in his farewell address, but 200 years later, even after he basically predicted the Civil War, we pay him no heed!
This treaty would only accomplish more control over the internet. You people forget how cunning a government is by making your believe that you are getting more with each bill signed into law, having only been taken!

Some people have excellent abilities to retain knowledge (photographic Memory) yet consistently prove that they are not able to properly utilize that knowledge in any meaningful way. Some people can't seem to remember anything, but if you place them in front of a puzzle they will figure it out in record time. And then there are autistic people that really stand as shining examples of extreme intelligent yet that intelligence is primarily focused in one direction like Math (Rain Man) or a particular art skill like Music where they can hear a song once and accurately reproduce it without need for sheet music, guides, or assistance.
Smart people are generally able to effectively utilize Intelligence, and being smart is more adaptively valuable than being extremely intelligent.
We already know the details of nanny government and all that jazz... but when are the businesses going to stand up, pool their money and fight being pushed into becoming nannys themselves? They may think its cool now to have a little power, but soon they will start getting sued by parents for not keeping their little dissident children in line. It won't be facebook, craigslist, and myspace being sued. It will be the companies that run games like WOW, Everquest, EVE, and the rest getting sued for the GM's and Dev's not keeping predators out of the game world.

One interesting story about cars is license plates. The first idea for license plates on cars where to actually use the owners names! There were 2 reasons they decided to provide mixed/randomized ID's. 1 reason was to provide everyone with some safety and security. Would not be so cool if you pissed off a fellow commuter and because your license plate said your name they tracked you down and slashed your tires because they where angry. Another BIG reason was to also make it difficult for the police to identify you instantly. Now, with technology that can scan your plate, and extract "Insurance, Name of Owner, and Address" all in a flash!
I wonder what tune you will be singing if the government decides to use this technology to "Ration" your energy usage?
There is Government and there are citizens. One or the other will be wearing the hand cuffs! Do you want to put them on the government or do you want to wear them yourself? Someone is ALWAYS at the controls and you can either let technology work for you in a manor that you get to control or you can let the government control you with it.
The price tag vs capacity and limitations makes this a worthless purchase for ANY Serious minded individual.
Hotswap isn't really a viable option for failed devices.
RAID if possible would not be conventional or standardized.
Price tag is completely stupid, especially when you can have an Intel x25 80 gig for much less in cost.
Most people are awe inspired and fooled by the grand total throughput of this thing at 800MB/s. Let me tell you, that is not really all that impressive. Just 8 HDD's could turn that number in a pure linear read test. Yes, I know some of you are going to say that well... thats 8 drive this is just 1! let me include you on a little secret! SSD's are exactly RAID-0 devices when you consider internal devices. That is how they get really fast when it comes to reading large amounts of data. However... the truth comes out when you put an SSD to a 1kb read & write test. You can bring even a good SSD down to 5MB/s of throughput. Now to put that in perspective, the very same test on a HDD can easily bring it down to 0.5MB/s of throughput.
Even if a single HDD could turn out 1 terabyte per second it still would not be able to touch an SSD in real performance or in perceived performance. And here is why. Go to your OS system folders and look at how big the files are. Over 50% of the system files are under 100Kb in size. Now how fast can an SSD get that file to you vs an SSD. Keeping it simple a good raptor HDD will take about 3ms and the SSD would take about 0.1ms. That is more that just an order of magnitude faster. It is easily 30 times faster than the HDD. Now lets pretend there are over 5,000 of those files to read!
HDD read
5,000 x 3ms = 15,000 MS equal to 15 seconds of time you have to wait to get all those files opened!
If each file is 100Kb then you will have read 500 Megs of data over 15 seconds which is roughly 33MB/s. Even though drives like this could do 120 Megs a second, it only gave you 33% of its peak limit.
SSD read
5,000 x 0.1ms = 500 MS equal to about 0.5 seconds of time you have to wait to get all those files opened!
If each file is 100Kb then you will have read 500 Megs of Data over less than a second which is roughly 500MB/s. Of course a SATA bus can take about 260+/- Megs a second so it would take more like 2~3 seconds to get that data opened to you, but it is still much faster than the HDD's latency and you literally get much closer to your drives peak limit.
In the end result, in real world applications just a single SSD can out perform even 16 RAID HDD's if the transactions are small and numerous! Which coincidentally, actually happens A LOT on every system whether it be a desktop or a database.
Now considering that for $800 you can easily get about 4 60 gigs SSD's with 200MB/s read and 130MB/s write speeds each you will not only have a very nasty fast drive that is 800MB/s Read and 520MB/s write in RAID-0 you will also have 240 gigs of space which is about 3 times the capacity for the same price! You could even get some hotswap and a RAID 5 for some redundancy and 180 gigs of space!
Face it, this sort of technology is just not 'ready' yet. Keep to the SATA bus. It still has plenty of bandwidth for LAS applications and is in no need of going anywhere!
