I'm a father of a 7 year old who absolutely loves your show. We have it on our tivo and I'm constantly pausing the show to ask him what he thinks will happen in your experiments.
You start every show with "Don't try this at home" but sometimes there are experiments that you do which you could try this at home. Have you ever considered having a show where you say, "DO Try this at home?" Its fun to see my child get such a love of science in such a fun way.
Its not about the convenience, its about the selection and the availability.
Even Blockbuster with its "Guaranteed In-store" policy is occasionally out of a movie I'd like to see. A downloaded version won't have the problem of being "out". Plus your selection on downloaded movies will be much greater.
At the end of the day, this is about the same thing as pay-per-view on demand, only with a much wider selection, and possibly a more consumer friendly pricing model.
No kidding. Doesn't matter what degree you hold or how many letters you can write after your name. An employer like MS doesn't want as much to read about what you *know* as much as they want to see how you *think*. I can't fault them for that.
So you're saying we should base our opinions on what 4 year olds like?
In that case, I think we should use magic pinwheels to distrubute data like the teletubbies do, cause thats what most people born in this century like.
I used to submit what I considered useful stuff all the time that got rejected. I never took it personally but I eventually got tired of typing up a good story only to see it hit the reject pile, so I stopped submitting anything. I guess that helps what they consider to be a signal to noise ratio, but I have to wonder how many good writeups were rejected so they could post dups, or advertise for companies as "news".
I guess what I'm saying is you are not alone, and the only thing you can really do about it is start your own site if you're so inclined, or put up with the BS here.
I agree with the parent here... its a 8-9 day turnaround on mailing off my old DVDs and getting new ones from Blockbuster. With netflix it was a 4-5 day turnaround. The only reason I keep my BB membership is because I get two free in-store video game rentals per month. But if you're more of a movie person, netflix is much better.
Not only that, but wasnt the Valeyard from the "Trial of a Time Lord" supposed to be some future variant of the Doctor?
Either way, its 12 regenerations but there are ways around that, it seems the Time Lords are capable of taking away or granting regenerations as was the case with the Master. I doubt the good Doctor would go in on Body Snatching the way the Master did.
I may be a geek, but I also like listening to sports. Local sports are carried almost exclusively by the AM stations. I respectfully disagree, I don't think that that will die out in my lifetime.
One of the AM stations I listen to is so powerful that you can hear it several states away. I live a few miles away, so theres rarely any interferance that can keep it from reaching my ears through my small digital sony portable AM/FM/TV/Weather tuner. The problem with my little tuner is that its an extra device to carry. I have no use for FM radio, as music is something you can easily archive. But you can't archive live events, thats the point of a live broadcast. When I'm working out listening to the reds game there's only one way to get it...
My point is I don't think it would be too silly to ask for an AM radio on your device... especially since most people listening to AM are listening to a sports event or some talk show and don't really care about distortions as long as they can hear the programme adequately.
Dang it, why is it so hard to find an MP3 player with a decent AM radio built in? I keep my portable AM radio in my pocket right next to my mp3 player and it has no problem with interference when the MP3 part is turned off. I use it to listen to baseball games... would be nice to have it all on one device.
The cynic in me wants to find "the catch", so I looked up the license agreement and its the shortest, easiest to read most legitimate license agreement I've seen for something like this.
Basically you can do whatever you want with their toolset and even charge money for the games you make, as long as you say it was made with their toolset. They're up front in saying that while they would encourage you to publish your game through them, it isn't necesary.
Hopefully we'll see some good independant games come from this.
Here's my issue however: Amtrak is failing because its not only slower, but it costs more.
I priced a round-trip Amtrak ticket from Cincinnati to Dallas at $240. The trip was to take over 24 hours, routing me through Chicago, then going to Dallas.
I bought a round trip ticket on a major airline for $180, non-stop. The trip took a little over 2 hours.
I wouldn't mind riding a train if it made economic sense, but it doesn't.
As far as commuting, I live in Dayton Ohio and work in Cincinnati. I have a 45mi commute. Thankfully my car is lean on gas, but if they had a train or even a bus I could take from here to there, I'd take it. But they don't. Two somewhat large population areas within 50 miles of each other and there's no mass transit between them, God Bless America!
I'm going to try to avoid finding out who the next doctor will be, though it'll probably be next to impossible.
Though I'd love to see the nerdrage/glee if they name a female actor to the role.
No, he enjoys the guessing, he's right more often than he's wrong and he likes to try to explain what he thinks will happen and why.

The new stuff runs 64 bit code and also can address larger blocks of memory.
The old stuff was limited to 32 bit code.
Next you'll be telling me that you can fly by throwing yourself at the ground and missing.
I just imagined 15 of a 50's version of a "scientist" locked in a basement somewhere trying to figure out what the world funniest joke is.
"My Dog has no nose."
"How does it smell?"
"Terrible!"
-they all die
Its a party in my head, all day long!

giddily released data
That conjures up so much fun mental imagery right there.
view old Jane Fonda exercise tapes
Yeah, that's what I tell my wife too.
The jedi religion is just as real as any other, IMO, except perhaps better written.

To sum up: Intel made people offers they couldn't refuse.
Thats exactly how Ohio works too.
I would imagine that most states are the same way, and that the article is full of FUD.

"He fixes the cable?"
I thought they already made the Doom movie but called it "Resident Evil" for some reason....
Seriously, watch the opening of RE and compare it to the opening of Doom. Change the town for mars or something maybe.
X - Generally sexually explicit, technically illegal in all AU states except capital territory, but authorities turn a blind eye.
Illegal?! Damn.
I guess I have to cross Australia off my list of places I might like to live when Hillary is elected president.

Ok... now I feel like a major nerd, thanks.
Maybe paramount would pick up the show if Shatner let them name their own price ...
