I think this is great. Anything that helps TiVo stay in business is good. It is not the advertising that annoys be anyway. It is the time taken for the commercials.
I agree. The animation of the facial expressions make the "actors" seem like plastic replicas of people or something. I get totally creeped out. I think they would have been much better off using real actors in a digital environment.
Star Wars Episode II already had virtual stunt men. Some of Obi Wan's fight with Jango was done with CG characters. Like, when Obi Wan is grabbed by the grappeling hook, and when he does a back flip down the roof of the building...
I saw ROTJ at 16 and I thought it was awesome! However, my 16 year old cousin who saw it at the same time had several complaints! 1) Did not like Ewoks. Too cute 2) Did not like how Luke called "Father, help me!" while being zapped by the Emperor.
I remember responding that those things did not bother me at all... In fact it had not even occured to me that someone would find a problem with them until he mentioned them. I was suprised to hear about the big backlash against Ewoks later on.
I *Hate* menus that change by themselves! Do not incorporate learning menus in anything! It just makes it harder to find what I am looking for if the menu items move around!
Ok, I feel better now. On a calmer note, I think programs that "try to be smart" are mostly annoying. I suppose it is *possible* that machine learning could be a good thing, just make sure I can turn it off.
You misunderstand. I am saying that the Hulk is more non-human (in other words: less human) than Gollum. Gollum could have easily been played by a person. A short, skinny, freaky-looking person, but still a person. The Hulk is obviously not somebody in green makeup.
Upon repeated viewings of Two Towers, I do not think the CGI was anything special. In some spots I think it actually looks bad. What made Gollum great was the performance of Andy Serkis, and of the performance of those interacting with him.
The performances outshine the CGI so much that you almost forget that CGI is there.
It also helps that the Gollum CGI character is not obviously non-human (unlike the giant comic-book looking Hulk)
I found all the smash zooms during the space scenes to be annoying. They are ok once in a while, but it was like *every* space ship had to have a smash zoom. Other than that small nitpick, I thought it was very well done and very watchable!
I bought the Video CD (VCD) at Newbury Comics. It has Chinese subtitles and the quality is pretty poor, but at least it plays in most DVD players! Each movie is on two CDs.

Ok, but what if I actually *like* the prequels. Do I get to see it a week early?
Ah yes, I just read the article...

Yeah! In fact I am sick of constantly reading news for nerds! I wish it would stop!

the Operating System behind the curtain
Maybe their brains are not capable of numbers greater that 2. Therefore their language reflects that limitation...

Does Quake 2 use any floating point math?
It may be cheaper to ship the car to India and back...
...I bet they can make one more!
for some Star Trek episodes!
Its a good thing the games are inexpensive...
If you watch Ep IV again, you might notice that Chewie and Obi-Wan seem to know each other. Maybe Ep III is where they meet...
Lou is big, but not *quite* as big as the Hulk in the movie.

There are several bad ideas in this list. Calling 911 and slashing my wrists won't help!
Actually,
I bought the Video CD (VCD) at Newbury Comics. It has Chinese subtitles and the quality is pretty poor, but at least it plays in most DVD players!

I saw Reloaded on IMAX. It was *big* and *loud*.
I recommend sitting near the back. Or better yet, see it on a normal screen.
Hah!
That's funny, because I feel the same way. I find it strange how certain people liked the original SW movies, but find the current batch too childish.
They do not seem to realize that it is their tastes that changed, not the style of the movies.
Huh?
1) South Park is a cartoon and is not for kids. Same can be said about The Simpsons (to a lesser extent)
2) Even *if* cartoons were only for kids, Star Wars was always intended for kids enjoyment, anyway.
Disclaimer:
When I first saw Star Wars, I was a kid. So I liked it.
