This is ridicules not all email is stored on ISP sites some are stored at home, those who run home servers for example and also pop3 email is stored locally not remotely, the daemon is just means of transport, as a telephone central.
I think it's a bit shortsighted to claim the above and before a judge makes statements in these matters they should consult different people on how things work, before they make such claims.
There is more then one way to use email, this seems based on webmail services.
This is impossible, unless there is some sort of delay,.. you can't just translate word for word,.. we in dutch do not use the same grammar as English people and neither the same as Spanish or French for that matter..
So either you get a crappy solution for a translation,.. where the other end is thinking wtf is this guy saying..

I am able to type google.com in my browser and go to itunes if I need it.

i think bsd once did a performance test like that comparing several sql daemons including mysqld to linux kernel and not some distro, also an other note freebsd 8 is still development release this isn't a production release,.. while ubuntu 9.10 is,.. for me personally FreeBSD is kickass server os while ubuntu is a nice desktop. Some people might not agree but linux to me has still a long way to go before it is suited to be a good server, then i'm only thinking differences between distros the hier is different on every linux,.. some are simular but they've always got some personal touch, which sucks.. an other thing is still a lot of new things are introduced to linux which also makes it a bit unstable/unsecure sometimes,.. this is good for desktop users but not for servers, which need uptime and need to reboot as little as possible. Knife always cuts both ways new things maybe better performance,.. but this comes at a cost, with every new line of code there is a risk of breaking some code or insecure code might be added. I'm not pro anything but at this point linux is a verry nice desktop, at least to me.
Indeed you know the main reason why it probably isn't noticeable is because a book is still a piece of quality and books are available for free in a library,.. you can't replace paper with digital pictures some people prefer the media, however a movie is exactly the same on computer tv or whatever.. only the screen size changes. There is no quality improvement, if movie industry wants to make more money then they should focus on releasing their movies on an exclusive platform, same for music industry they should focus more on concerts, at least here does the performer actually do something compared to a CD which they copy over and over and over to sell:p it's ironic isn't it they copy CD's to sell them then they complain if regular people do the same he he

We can pay by sms,.. we have some sort of subscription system where you can sms, from when to when you park. The guy who gives you a ticket has a system that checks if you payed before making the ticket and if your sms is active you don't get a ticket:p So basicly when they enter your plates number to write your ticket, it will answer if you've payed or not, not sure but i think it's even ocr machine which scans your plates, by taking a picture from it.

My girlfriend who barely knows what a mouse is, knows how to operate Ubuntu 9, my childeren daughters 4,7,11 years old know how to operate linpus lite,..
Linux is so fucking easy these days it doesn't take a genius to figur out how to operate it,.. and my girlfriend is used to using windows XP however she had no trouble using my laptop with ubuntu loaded,.. she didn't even realize that she was using linux until I told her, she doesn't even know what linux is. She noticed that the interface was a bit different but aside from that she could figur out what to do and trust me when i tell you that she isn't the smartest person around especially not when it comes to computers.
The problem is that these organizations are trying to excuse everything with income loss cause of the internet, in a way there asking for compensations in a different way.
The other day i saw a tv show where people had the same issue and someone on that show can't remember which one, suggested to file for a temporary patent which is about 150$.. the domain contained something with gov that is all i remember.
Is there also one for relatives, I would love to try this on my mother in law, can't wait until it is on the market. I can already see howto's on how to kill your mother in law "by accident"
inspecting packets and limiting p2p will only end up users starting to use encryption and an encrypted packet is bigger then a none encrypted one, basically leads to more traffic, I would suggest you introduce a Qos and encourage downloaders to download during the off hours, depending on whether or not you have hard limit, you can enable 50% rate at night this will encourage downloaders to download at night, because then only 50% of the traffic is counted. Also I'm not sure if it's legal to inspect packets because you have privacy issues as well, so I don't think it's just a moral issue.
Then on the other hand what about skype just to call an example I'm sure there is other legal p2p traffic,.. this one just comes to mind,.. I don't think people would really enjoy you shaping their phone calls ending up with a crappy connection.
As far as I know we don't have any gated communities in EU/BE though we don't have a ghetto either,.. maybe it's because there is an overall security. I think I have to agree with QuoteMstr

Maybe it's the software for that hardware that isn't compatible, .. if it works on one platform why wouldn't it work on an other.
