So Nintendo has been making Mario based games for decades... then to gain some relevance they came out with the classic NES (again Nostalgia) now a SNES...
When will they come out with the retro Nintendo64 or the GameCube?
By then the Wii will be about a decade old and they can come out with a retro Wii... before re-introducing the Retro NES again...
Reminds me of Lucas issuing new "remastered" versions of SW every few years (VHS, LaserDisc, DVD etc...)
I miss going to the arcade (or bowling alley) with a group of people. It wasn't just about playing the games but the social aspect of it. Lining up quarters on the SF2 cabinet as to who "had next". Now I see kids staying home, each on their own xbox/Playstation and connected via VOIP with their friends.
Even LAN parties were better than what we have now from a social interaction standpoint.
The logic, essentially, is to remove one of the main incentives that spur bad actors to set up bogus accounts with somebody else's content -- the easy money.
How are they going to determine who the original content owner is? There's so many compilation videos on the site that rehash the same smartphone/dash cam content over and over. Is it "first to upload" especially when the original upload might be on some other site (vimeo/liveleak etc...).
Current BMW models require the battery to be registered with the car before it will work. You can't just go down to your local auto parts store and get a new battery and swap out the old one in your garage. This holds true even if you get your battery from the BMW dealer.
I'm waiting for the day when BMW requires only bmw approved/certified sockets to be used.
Seattle may be affordable for Amazon/MSFT employees, but that's only because Seattle is about 5 years behind SF. Housing prices, traffic are skyrocketing and if you have a job where you don't get options (teacher/fire fighter for example)... it's time to leave.
I'd love to know how much video is consumed per household? Back in 2009, you had a TV in the family room and then probably one in the master bedroom and one in the kids' bedroom(s). Now if you've got a family of 5, you've probably got 5 devices that can all stream video (phones, tablets, tv, roku/chromecast... ).
I'd be American's are watching far more video today than ever before. Very few parents advocate having their 2yr old watch TV, but plenty of them believe $kids_app will make their 2yr old more successful in getting into Stanford or MIT.
Thought the reason that these were not allowed in space was that the fumes from them cannot easily be removed from the atmosphere. It's not like they can open a window, and air out the fumes. This is a problem with all things that are brought up into space.
If I have a noon meeting, don't call me at the start of the meeting... All too often I've got back2back meetings and not everyone ends their meetings a few minutes short of the hour. So we need a few minutes for a bio break before the next meeting....
I used to like to attend conferences because they were user focused. Meaning the end-users would deliver the majority of the presentations on what they did with X and lessons learned, pitfalls avoided etc etc...
Now most of the sessions are a vendor pitching some product and feature set.
I've seen way better content with local Meetups than the larger conferences.
The only reason a lot of people, like myself, have cable is so we can watch live sports on ESPN. I don't need ABC/NBC/CBS and all the other crap. I wish I could get ESPN a la carte like I do with HBO GO and Netflix.
As it happens you do have a choice. That choice is moving closer to work, closer to shops, and closer to other people. It might inconvenience you slightly to live like the rest of humanity, but unless you have a pressing need to be way out there, you really shouldn't be.
Yeah, and costs 10x more to do so. The long commute is what we trade to be able to afford to live comfortably, save for college etc..
It'll be interesting when the first shingle gets dropped by the installer, slides down the roof, and shatters when it lands in my garden leaving an infinite number of pieces of glass.
I expect my employees to not only be responsible for their product, but accountable for the quality of it. Maintaining data integrity and security is worth paying for. Also, it directly translates into revenue for the company. Like a chef, use cheap ingredients and have a cheap (low quality) product... nobody will come back to your restaurant.

Who knew iOS was powered by Bayan Vines.
If I don't like a driver, and give them a poor tip (or no tip at all), could the driver turn around and rate me poorly on Uber's app?

If you spend 100 hours to earn a $5000 prize, is that really any different than working for a real company at $50/hr?
For a real company, I'm guaranteed the $50/hr even if I'm sick that day.
They could still sell our DNS queries....
Waterproof, usb-c and a headphone jack...
Why can't Apple just include these...?
This app is gonna make me millions...

I thought every job in the silicon valley was a six figure job...
artisanal cobalt
WTF is that? Are these people really skilled artisans akin to those making my $15 scones or $20/lb CheeseIts?
I thought this stuff was coming out of Africa, obviously their advertising company is based in SF.

This is an IRQ conflict... they should move the headset to COM1 and the cellular modem to COM3.
Delta streams their content from a server that is on the plane. No air to ground network connection is required.
Mod parent up.

Not all houses are surrounded 100% by soft earth, some have stone/brick/flagstone walkways, metal railings etc...
It'll be interesting when the first shingle gets dropped by the installer, slides down the roof, and shatters when it lands in my garden leaving an infinite number of pieces of glass.
Never seen an asphalt shingle do that.
