The fact that you seem to think that wholesale spying is a "minor offence", deems you worthy of being figuratively burned at the stake. Which European country are you from that has this view? Belarus?
I have to agree... The Chronicles of Riddick was an amazing scifi tribute to Robert E. Howard. I guess because I'm a fan, I got to see many layers in the movie that other people missed. This is one of my all time favourite scifi movies as well... i wonder how they will build on a sequel, there is so many places this can go and be done well.
That sounds like Larry Niven's (and others) writings on the Known Space universe, including Man-Kzin Wars.. there's a lot of books out there, and most are a great read.
Here are the facts to back up your statement. Police or border agents don't even make the list.

If they can call a custom desktop PC a supercomputer, because it has specs that used to be in the range of supercomputers, then my wristwatch is also a supercomputer.
What are the chances that mainstream media would ever do this kind of investigative journalism? Or take seriously this kind of investigation done by an individual. Mainstream media like newspapers always claim that they have the upper hand over bloggers because they can do serious investigation.... but concerned people with time on their hands far outnumber journalists. This is a great example of that... and it's very telling that no mainstream news has yet to carry this.
And I think it's serious, because I'm sure this violates a few laws, at least in my country.
Imagine if ASCAP lost. Then it would be legal to play 30-second clips royalty free. Suddenly they make no money from TV commercials. There's a lot at stake here.
That's the most likely reason why they texted... they probably tried to phone someone first. When they realized it didn't work, they tried texting, and luckily that worked. I think this is a case of the media not having all the facts and jumping to the wrong conclusions.
What if you were in the military, and someone decided to leak secrets that proved the war you are fighting was illegitimate? No... that could never happen....? Could it?
If the military truly has leaks, they're doing it wrong! It's not everyone else's job to keep their secrets. The importance of bringing truth to the masses outweighs any straw man argument you can possibly bring up. Exposing things like secret government human rights abuses will always trump anything else. Do you have a better idea for an open and transparent and safe way to spread that kind of information to the world?

Obviously EMPHASIS YOURS. You omit the third definition which agrees with the grandparent and nullifies your whole argument. How you got +3 informative is beyond me.
Personally I am rooting for the pirates maybe they can drive up the cost of the goods being transported making more local or regional options viable in areas of commerce and energy supply.
Forget your anti retard pills today? If you're rooting for them, you have to realize that most of the shipping there goes INTO Africa. They would be raising the price of aid to areas where local and regional options are insufficient. The pirates are shooting their own region in the foot for their own profit... it helps no-one. I say nothing works better against pirates than hot lead.
If gravitational waves can shake a superconducting sheet, will shaking a superconductive sheet create gravitational waves? Wouldn't that open things up to some amazing experiments?
Though I have had some formal astronomy training, my skills are out dated and unused. I put out a challenge to any sharp astronomers out there with the latest software to calculate when the next time (if any) Pluto will pass directly overhead any part of the state of Illinois at night. I had some idea it might come close... I would love to know if it really does or not!
The law is written thusly: "that as Pluto passes overhead through Illinois night skies, that it be reestablished with full planetary status"
Because Illinois is a northerly state... does Pluto ever actually pass "overhead"? Ever? Pluto's orbital inclination to the sun is about 11 degrees at maximum. The latitude of Illinois is much higher than that, at about 36 degrees. So Pluto may never pass through their air space, even if the borders of Illinois are extended upwards to infinity.
But since Pluto can never truly be "overhead", does that mean the law never actually goes into effect?
I would do something different. I would go back to that manager, and in a conciliatory manner accept his demands, all while having him verbally confirm his demand. I would even grovel and thank him for not messing up my career like he threatened to do.
And I would record it. (It's legal here.)
Then I would give it to my lawyer.
And while working at my next job, I would be happy knowing that my lawyer would be mopping the floor with my previous employer.
It might fly, but will it stand the heat of re-entry? There doesn't seem to be any heat shielding at all. I'm wondering how it's not going to disintegrate?
I am a gas pump mechanic, and I've wanted to do the same thing sooooo many times!!!!

As a Canadian who's had some relatives try to immigrate to Canada, I don't think thats true. I challenge you to back up that accusation.

"Sufficiently advanced forms of incompetence are indistinguishable from malice."
So they permitted slavery in the USA for the case of political expediency of getting a few more states on board. Sounds like a value decision to me.

The average body mass of a mouse is about 35 grams. The average body mass of your typical American female is 74.4 kilograms.
Thus, the size difference is actually closer 2,125 times. The mouse doesn't stand a chance.

Actually quite slack jawed. This could be something that leads to a quantum theory of gravity.

All that's usually needed is a reasonable doubt.
