    I find it hard to believe that such a festival is being held in Astoria. It's a nice town and all but this time of year it is cold and wet. After you look at the Astoria Megler bridge and the Astor Column that's it. Even fort Clatsop burned down.

    Maybe it is a good idea, look at films inside warm and dry , or go outside and and get rained on. Yep , film is good.

    I partially solved this problem with a wide angle rear view mirror on top of my monitor. It was made by Wink for autos.
    Not the best solution but I could see behind me.

    Since Slackware 96 , the desktop of choice.
    Slackware is for people who like to be able to get at the bits and pieces.
    You don't have to fiddle with the bits and pieces (anymore) but you can.

    I can see a savings in the south, but up north it means you get a hour more of dark in the morning. I am either going to have an hour of dark in the AM or the PM. I happen to prefer getting up after the sun.

    Wrote my congress criter complaining about the extension, the reply was bland.
    It was contained in a bigger bill and no one thought it important enough to question it.

    THey can't even keep there message boards and finance services running. I doubt that they will be any more succeful at this.
    Google is safe.

    Can the skilled workers get into this country?
    Can the job be exported?
    Is the country in question in even worse shape than the US?
    Numerous countries face an even bigger problem than we.
    Think they might be doing the same thing we want to try?

      Be light enough to read in bed.
      have a built in dictionary(highlight word, get
      def , in language of choice)
      have built in pronunciation, (highlight word or phrase and hear it, in language of choice)

    A recent article in the Economist pointed out the similarities of the Jihadists, IRA, and anarchist.
    Bomb throwers one and all. 100 years ago the same curtailment of freedom was deemed as neccessary to control them. It didn't seem to do much. ditto IRA. But it will work this time , right?
