The combat was like that for the lower levels also. The entire game ran like that. It is the sole reason I quit playing the game and would never recommend it to anyone. It downright ruined the whole experience for me.
All the skills (including cooking) max out at 300. The secondary's are raised above 225 at lvl 40 or 42 via quests.
Cooking to 50 isn't a 30 second endeavor either, the parent is exagerating a bit. You need to collect ingredients for the skill; you need 50 raw ingredients to skill up to 50. You need to kill at least 50 things (meat doesn't always drop) or fish up 50 fish, and often you will fish up stuff that is too high level to cook until you get to 50. You can't do that in 30 seconds.
We blew out the joystick port of two of those. We had those nice wico joysticks (the big red stick ones rather than the balltopped one), unfortunately they left a bit of metal exposed on the stick. Hit that with a bit of static and the port would be gone. Awesome joysticks otherwise, just need to cover the metal bits with electrical tape.
Not in my old HS they aren't (IL public school). 2 semesters of US history, 2 semesters of world history, and 1 semester of government are all required for graduation.
Where is your HS located? Just checked and my HS still has Government as a graduation requirement. IL also has a state and federal constitution exam which is required for graduation. Of course I have no idea how thorough any of these are anymore.
Yes. This has been known about for a long time, ever since the beta. If you want to play with folks in Europe you need to either buy a European copy which connects to the Europe server or have your friends in Europe buy a NA copy which will connect to the server in NA.
The loan isn't neccessarily the bad part though, it is how they spend the money like water which causes the problems. There is a long diary posted a while back of an engineers experience recording a major album (turned into a book, so it is kind of an ad, but there is still A LOT on the website). Some of the stuff in there was just ludicrous, the amount of money wasted was incredible.
FYI: I can't remember if this is explained in the article but, Alsihad is Protools, a lot of the old school sound engineers hate it so they call it that (as in - alls I had was this crappy program instead of a tape machine).
I have yet to see any 1337 speak on my server (Malygos, horde). The closest I saw was someone used 4 instead of for, and he was flamed for it. Just a bunch of where is this or LFG stuff or trade requests, etc. on the channels. I have yet to/ignore anyone. Only an occasional kill/chest steal also. Seems kind of wierd, I expected a lot more crap.
Ideally what should happen is that the company would contact the farmer and tell them that he is growing the plant. They go to arbitration and it is determined that it was accidental contamination, the farmer is compensated for any loss and that is it.
Well I have not heard anything about a countersuit, just read what was in the court papers. Also that link is over 2 years old, did he ever go ahead with it?
Monsanto removes the contaminating crop at their expense (as noted in the judgement), I don't know whether that would include compensation for the lost crop or not. If he would have been monetarily damaged from the contamination he should have countersued Monsanto, he didn't, and the judge even makes a specific note of this in the decision.
Schmeiser saved seed he knew was roundup ready (he sprayed that field with roundup and found 60% of the plants survived) from 1997 and used that seed in 1998 to plant his entire canola crop for the year. You can read the court findings yourself here. He should have contacted Monsanto to get them to remove the plants from his property as two other farmers testified they had done.
Bah, that is pretty weak, there was a 120+ alliance raid on xroads this weekend on Malygos server. Now that is some good lag. Once enough people were kicked off and left the area it got to a managable lag free battle of about 40-60 Alliance and 40-60 Horde.
Yes, Bill Gates' goal in life is to throw billions of dollars at ineffective organizations so that they will cause more pain and suffering in the world, he is just that evil.
Go read the foundation's website if you want to know what they are doing and some of the organizations they are helping. Sorry to break it to all the slashbots, but Bill Gates isn't the devil.
I don't see the point of criticising the Bill Gates donations. The Gates foundation has donated almost $4B to global health programs to date. Yet, because MS has made investments to increase market share all of that is somehow bad? Seriously? Criticising Bill Gate's business practices is fine, but to do it to his charitable organization, (which gives more money than most countries!) is ludicrous.
No, my sDSL sucks because it is so dang slow compared to my aDSL. I get the exact same performance from my aDSL, just MUCH faster download speeds. Maybe I have really good aDSL service because I haven't encountered any of the problems which sDSL is supposed to protect you from.
You get plenty of gold at higher levels, but you will need to spend 100 gold on your mount at lvl 40, then 1000 gold at lvl 60 to get the elite mount.
That is the only real money sink though at this time for higher levels (though repair equipment gets expensive). Bliz has said they plan to offer player housing in the future so that should relieve the economy somewhat once they implement this.
I don't know why anyone would want sDSL for gaming. I can get sDSL for $80 at a "blazing" speed 384/384 or regular aDSL for $40 at 3000/384. In fact I don't know why ANYONE would get sDSL, we have it at work in our test lab and the connection sucks compared to the 3000/384 DSL I have at home.
Didn't one of the dozens of windows builtin laserjet drivers work?

"Boy racers"? Never heard that term before. Is it the PC version of riceboys/ricers?

Because that is what the law says.

I was quoting the facts of the case, which did not change on the appeal. The only thing that changed was the final judgement.
Well I have not heard anything about a countersuit, just read what was in the court papers. Also that link is over 2 years old, did he ever go ahead with it?

Actually it says "Web Development Studio" in the upper right corner of the homepage. But I agree, they don't do a good job of marketing their product.
Ugg, the shanda website is godawful slow right now. I hope their game server aren't this slow.

The US became party to the Berne convention in 1988.

Don't forget buying STB so they could make their own cards, screwing all their current partners who turned to ATi and Nvidia.
