"what could Stan and Kyle possibly been saying that was so offensive?"
Ya know what... I learned something today, It's ok for us to make fun of a religion that gives you death threats because chances are they will attack and kill the producers and studio executives first who live at ______ . "yeah"
Something like that maybe.
Nature is pretty much the cream of the crop. It has an amazing impact factor and over a hundred years of reputation to back it up. Getting published in Nature is a high honor and get's your research respected and read by tons of scientists worldwide.
My wife is a scientists and she would never turn down a chance to get published in the "big" journals.
Such as Nature, Science, or Cell.
You can always pick up these articles for free at your local university library.
I think the internet has spoiled us to the point where we can't go get something to read anymore. Kinda a shame.
Hopefully it wont look like anything. Eventually I want a browser that I don't even see yet can do everything it does currently and more with an input device that combines everything I need for the new (more interactive) internet.
*sigh... I can dream.
Dear Paramount Pictures,
When I read that a 500GB hard drive came with a copy of Star Trek on it, I reached for my wallet. Even though I already own the blu-ray version. When I read "20 other movies included", I dropped my wallet because I was trying to pull out my debit card too fast. Even if they are old low quality/low budget movies I think this is a great deal! I want to buy one before they sell out.
Then I read "DRM" and "additional fees to watch the movies". I now feel like you have insulted my intelligence and I will be sure to pirate your movies from now on. It's not about money. I spend plenty of money. It's about convenience and value.
Your ex-customer,
"It's about time we looked into this as a worthy area of study."
They did. And after millions of dollars and decades of research they concluded that it was a waste of time.

Your a religious nutcase, and you sig proves it.
Your a buzzkill.
It is people like you that wanted Galileo in prison because he dared to challenge your world view.
Just like the roman empire, American capitalism will fail. We will be dead and gone, and the world will have a new and better system of government and economics, and religion. Yes, that is right, your christianity will take it's place in the history books next to greek mythology.
However, technology, science, reason, logic etc... will survive. And mankind will survive because of this.
You and your beliefs will be extinct.
You are talking about receiving and transmitting limits. AMIRITE???
The fiber itself could theoretically allow for infinite bandwidth. As long as the sending and receiving is "tuned" enough.
Think of it this way. frequency 401.235 frequency 401.234 etc.... You can keep going.
Frequency 401.000000000004325897648723874478537867
Which is a different frequency from 401.000000000000004325897648723874478537868
The sensitivity of the transmitter and recievers is the limit currently. Which is where the word THEORETICALLY comes in.
There is no such thing as a limit of bandwidth on a fiber optic line.
It is theoretically infinite.
If you run out of bandwidth then you start broadcasting another signal down the exact same line.
Think of using a flashlight to send morse code. Then you need to send it faster, so you have a second flashlight that is a different color sending at the same time. Twice the information.
Is it still 50% more efficient, after you add in the energy required to "heat and pressurize and treat" the fuel?
All of that must be factored into the efficiency of an energy producing engine.
If it is indeed true that they have gotten 50% more efficiency, then that would put the internal combustion engine (which has an average of 14% efficiency) to 21% efficiency. Wind turbines are 33%.
I am still amazed at the overwhelming use of the internal combustion engine.
The only reason why is because for so long oil was so cheap the engines could afford to be inefficient.
Well, those days are over my friends.
Furthermore, I do feel it necessary to point out that this:
However if something goes wrong, those plans will come crashing to Earth along with Falcon 9.
...is a friggin' sensationalist claim that has no place in science reporting, either on a primary site or on a news aggregation site. Should the first Falcon 9 fail, they will learn from it and launch better designs in the future. Orbital still is working on its Taurus rocket. The EELV program (Atlas and Delta) are still pushing strong in the commercial market. If the first Falcon 9 flight fails, it will not be the end all be all of either Obama's current NASA vision, nor America's role in the space program. So please, keep the hyperbole out of the damned summaries guys.
I would like to add an addendum to that. If the Falcon 9 blows up it will not slow the company down at all. These are launches that are paid for. The company is not risking it's own money. This is part of the Demo contract, and several launches have already been paid for and planned.
The Falcon 9 launch should be a complete success. It is built on the same tech as the Falcon 1. The Falcon 1 of course is the "staging area" to test the design and iron out kinks before the Falcon 9 launches. Well, they have done that.
Now to clear up misunderstandings. The Falcon 9 and dragon from day one has been built to exceed human ratings. Everything about it from top to bottom is rated to carry people. Only one thing left to do. Built an escape system. They have already started designing and plan to be done with it in 2 years. Oh and... get a couple of successful launches.
Should be one heck of a show.
"anyone buying a pre-owned copy of the game will be forced to cough up $20 to obtain a code to play online."
The majority of gamestop customers is 15 yr olds without credit cards. I doubt this will work. Meanwhile an adult like me will just wait until the game is on sale for 20 bucks after it has been out a year.
NOO!! We can't switch over, we need to keep the market share low so that they will continue to make awesome commercials for our enjoyment.
I think that was the coolest commercial I have ever seen.
Does anybody else have a small part of them hoping it's true when hearing news stories like this?
Ya know what... I learned something today, It's ok for us to make fun of a religion that gives you death threats because chances are they will attack and kill the producers and studio executives first who live at ______ . "yeah" Something like that maybe.
He misspells parody, and claims the disciples carried swords. And he get's modded insightful. Slashdot has gone downhill
So the Japanese sent a motorcycle in space to bring back an asteroid?
All of you are forgetting that MW 3 was the pinnacle of the series. And MW 4 was horrible.

It should also be noted that bias does not equal false. Something can be biased and truthful at the same time.
It should be noted that the "pirates" of Somalia are just trying to protect their country from all the illegal toxic waste dumping that goes on. They consider themselves a volunteer coast guard. http://www.huffingtonpost.com/johann-hari/you-are-being-lied-to-abo_b_155147.html

Interesting. And I can't even get 5 page views a day on my blog.
So the pentagon is using Scientology to scare wikileaks?

Suddenly get the urge to press the F1 key?

Elon Musk has stated the goal is 500 dollars a kg, and is achievable. At that price, slashdot could put something in space.
