    Will not help OP, he's doing either local development on his machine or LAN, and cookies could be necessary for his app.

    I'm guessing he likes Chrome because it must be faster than Firefox loading the Java applet he maintains.

    They are not idiots. They have been smart enough to keep a sizeable electoral base (20 to 25%) in poverty and ignorance receiving subsidies from the government and without the need to perform any job. So, they always have a 20% difference to the next candidate... it's a system designed to sustain a party in the office indefinitely.

    People in other countries may have a hard time understanding the willingness we have to exchange into strong currencies like US dollar or euros our pesos.
    Maybe this helps: our biggest bank note is the ARS 100 bill. It is worth USD 7.60, and you need 72 of them to buy a non-smart 40" LED TV. Last year we needed just 60 of them. And we are frickin' sure we'll need 90 next year.

Might be so much better that she receives a list of best books from you than from a generic source.     The show has been downhill for the entire season 7. It is so different than the very good episodes from seasons 2-4 that almost makes me cry. These guys struck an incredibly good deal considering that.

    Sadly, this could be the only true solution. He'll also learn the wisdom of backing up regularly when a virus destroys all his information.
    Anyway, this works for a child. For my mom's PC I prepared a restricted user account with no admin rights, and an admin account with a simple password (123). No viruses so far, but I have to manually upgrade her software regularly.

    In South America we don't use maple syrup, just regular honey or corn-derived syrups which don't even try to emulate the real thing.

    First achieve controlled nuclear fusion, THEN use that cheap, clean power for crazy experiments.

    I think you meant the quarter pounder; the Metric one would be the tough to market "113 grams with cheese". The approximate "Ninth of a kilo with cheese" doesn't cut it either.
    By the way, in my country the Clown sells them as "Cuarto de Libra con queso", that's the exact Spanish translation for quarter pounder with cheese, and it seems the same thing happens in French

    Also using PuTTY but on my Nokia 5800. Wonderful, but obviously not for extended periods of time as it lacks a physical keyboard.

    I'll second that. If you have > 10 IMAP accounts with > 5000 emails each, it will be too slow to be usable. I even lose some messages because of the slowness at selecting mails from different accounts in its shared Inbox. I complained on the Mozilla support page, and went back to TB2. And after seeing Ubuntu 10.4 using TB 3, I'll go back to Debian - eyecandy is not worth data loss.

    I tried rc5 with Command and Conquer: Red Alert 3 (3 gold ratings) and it doesn't run past the splash screen even after installing all dependencies via winetricks

    What about an umbrella you can carry in your wallet, with your credit cards? (Phillip K. Dick's "Idoru"). A foldable QWERTY keyboard for your smartphone, that can unfold into small and full size? What if you can do the same with the screen?

    Cars which change shape according to speed and wind could be much cheaper than today, too.

    I want my Batman-like cape/delta wing for Christmas!

    Quantum computers use qubits only for calculations. What will be really confusing is to perform a core dump on one of those machines. If it is possible at all.

    40k lines is not too much, even on horrible languages like RPG or VB. But if it is spaguetti code, he's in deep sh!t. He should try identifying which modules are there and why, and (if it's still very hard for him to mantain it) CAREFULLY replace those modules with new ones. By breaking stuff he could learn why the original code worked fine...
