In 1978 there was this little law passed called Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act. Basically, it provides the means for the federal government to issue domestic surveillance. The catch is you need a warrant approved by the court. You might argue, as the Dubya seems to have, that expediency doesn't allow the time it takes to get such a warrant. Ahh, but they already thought of this and put in a clause where they can do the wiretap and get the court order something like up to 3 days later. Fact is, a warrant requires a certain amount of probable cause to be issued, before or after the fact, and if some of the news stories are true, some of these wiretaps might not have even met the minimum requirements for a warrant.
It's the law stoopid and unlike Steven Seagal, the president is not above the law. If a strict interpretation of these laws are followed, this could be an impeachable offence, hence Dubya has been rolling out the P.R. machine the past few days.

The question shouldn't be, why do games seem to cause more deaths in Korea than elsewhere? The question should be, what leads Koreans to game so excessively to the point of death?

I firmly believe it's not the games at fault, but the environment/Korean culture which leads those people to obsessive behaviour towards games. As a Korean, I know the culture intimately. Japan seems to be the archetype for the overworked person pressured by family and society exclusively toward the goal of achievment to the point where it seems the message is, "achieve or die", but Korea has taken this attitude to the next level. The cause could be the fierce competitiveness between Japanese and Korean cultures, the number of jobs versus the number of people, ingrained competitive attitude towards other Koreans, or other cultural factors. Whatever the cause it appears that all this has culminated in a group of highly stressed, obsessive people. Using a game as an outlet to focus both the obsessive attitude and the stress seems to result in a "higher" death rate.

Frankly, it's sad how under the reign of George Bush, his greatest contribution seems to be lending credibility to these type of people. It seems to me that the war on terror has shifted from the Middle East to the shores of America. This war now needs to be fought on home soil; not from Islamic radicals or those of that ilk, but from politicians who more and more seem to be using fear and terror to pass laws within our own government and abusing the rights of it's own citizens.

Around the end of 1991 linux 0.01 came out on newsgroups and was, imo, one huge kludge that would require some very serious work which linus realized and asked for help with. Within that same year, and with the help of various programmers, Linux 0.10 came out and was vastly improved but still seriously unstable. Anyways, the linux you see today or even as far back as 1993 had went through many itterations of change and refinement, and so for his original design, yes it probably would have deserved an F.

Then they attempt to make sure the product doesn't have any drastic side effects like, oh I don't know, severe depression that leads to suicide (see acne medication)

Then the pharmaceutical that "developed" the drug by licensing it wants to save money by putting a standard price on the cost of human life when it turns out the drug has problems.

They offer you a limited monopoly which the pharmaceuticals get around by creating an "improved" version of the drug which is only a slight change in the previous drug such as "new and improved time release capsules" or "the 24 hour version" etc... Which they spend millions of dollars on to market and give out free samples of.

Then they exploit the medical conditions of consumers to pass on every cent and up the price to almost extortionist levels.

There's a reason why the pharmaceutical business does so well in the stock market. Also, there's a reason why people buy drugs from canada where they are incredibly cheaper.

With iTunes and other online digital music distribution, there is no manufacturing, shipping, or packaging costs for the factored in to the overall price of the music. Given all this, shouldn't $.99usd be the maximum price for any single track? Personally, I agree, the music industry is being greedy. The only reason I can see as to why they don't like the current model is that they can't bundle in a bunch of crappy tracks with a good track to boost profits.

Cloak and dagger will only be a half success if they have some complete knock out playing Dagger running around all movie with almost nothing on, a la comic.
The rest basically sucked as comics and will suck as movies. I mean come on, Power Pack? The best thing about that comic was when it had cameos with like the Punisher and even then it wasn't enough to redeem the series.
If I were going to make a movie out of marvels stable of comics that hasn't been done before, I'd probably choose the New Mutants (pre x-force). I would've said generation-x but that was done in my opinion fairly poorly and the timing wasn't right. Had it come out after the x-men movie it would've probably faired better.
Since marvel is now about pimping itself out, I wouldn't be surprised to see x-factor and maybe even x-calibur being set up after the backstory is filled by the x-men series.

Usually the 4 pipes are locked for couple of reasons. Early on, when the card first came out, demand was fairly high across the board for 6800-6800ultra's and production was fairly low. As a result, some 6800's were basically 6800gt's with pipes locked, or in the rare instance of like the evga 6800limited edition (not to be confused with 6800LE), it was a 6800ultra clocked down or pipe locked...I forget. Now, production has basically met demand and the pipes are usually locked because of defects in the manufacturing process to said pipes. If a single pipe is "broken" it can't be sold as a 6800gt so 3 other pipes are locked to make it a 6800 vanilla. You can unlock all 4 pipes but you'll usually see artifacting. If you can figure out exactly which pipe or pipes are broken, you can re-lock those ones and have a better performing 6800..but not quite a 6800gt.

When Intel offers the same performance at a cheaper price than amd, I'll be happy to make the move. Directx 8 is on the way out and is pretty bad when it comes to directx 9 games. Even with the budget line of graphics cards, you want it to be compatible with future games...not limited to games of the past. With that in mind, this card does directx9 w/sm3.0 at a cheap price point and hopefully will hold up for at least the forseeable directx9 future at joe schmoe's play quality (medium quality at around 30fps). A serious gamer wouldn't take a second look at this card, but for some oem or someone trying to build on the cheap, this is a good option.
