I have a streaming account with them. Except for a few blockbusters that everyone has probably seen at least twice, their catalog is comprised of reality shows and B movies.

Looking for a new service to stream movies...good ones. Any suggestions?

I am reminded of the Movie Fame. There was a scene where a student was proclaiming the virtues of synthesizers and proclaiming other instruments obsolete. One person could per4form a whole symphony.

The professor replied, "that's not music, it's masturbation."

I think that I had a good plan. I think it covered what I needed to be covered.

Now, I have a more expensive plan with a higher deductible.

So you can just fuck off and die.

The human voice is an instrument. Works more or less the same way and has in many cases greater range and dynamics than many instruments.

You speak as if it was some sort of add on when it is, in fact, the genesis of music.

  11. Re:Rodrigo y Gabriela on Ask Slashdot: Can Digital Music Replace Most Instrumental Musicians? · · Score: 1

Umm...that's the purpose of music when it's supporting a singer. The SINGER is the focus and the purpose of the music is to support them. Together, they make for a complete musical performance.

Schools today treat the kids like goats staked out for lions to kill and eat. If I want to cause mayhem and kill, where do I go? A "gun free zone"!

Hey, everyone, come here and perpetrate your crimes, no guns here to worry about!

As for the political aspect of it, perhaps you missed the fact that this kid was a "Very Proud Of Being A Socialist"

Google is the new Microsoft. And it's decidedly Evil.

They have purchased technologies and assimilated them into their own pervasive environment. Are you logged into gmail? Open Youtube and it automatically logs you a account that you never made and puts your email as the user name. I haven't been there, but I expect I have a Google+ account, even though I didn't make one.

Everything they do is about absorbing all the information about you possible and then throwing it back at you in the form of ads, offers, recommendations, playlists, search type ahead results (ever try to type www.youtube.com and have it first suggest www.youporn.com?)

If I had a way to easily dump all of my emails in gmail to a different provider, I would.

Open any phone book or Google for any city, "machine shop"; there will be hundreds. They are the foundation of any kind of manufacturing economy. My company deals with at least 20 different shops, parceling out work to meet shipping deadlines and lower costs. When this technology matures to the point where it is as ubiquitous as a CNC mill or lathe, you will see turn around times crash and labor shift from skilled machinists to skilled CAD engineers (good or bad...you decide). It's conceivable that the actual making of a part becomes almost a lights out operation.

Hang on to your hats, this will be a game changer in the world economy.
