Nobody said I have no experience. I just figured some certs might improve what I already have. I've been doing tech support, and building/maintaining computers for the majority of my years on this earth. I was practically born on one. Sheesh.. ask for a little help and get scolded like an untrained dog.
"I see another metal object with him. Does this sound familiar?"
"Why yes, I believe it is beagle."
"Yes yes, beagle, it is a dog, correct?"
"Um, no. It's metal remember?"
"Yes, but it is a dog. And this dog looks ferocious! I believe it has in some way damaged the spirit. It looks like it has detonated some kind of bomb.. hold on....yes I think the bomb said EMP on it. Does that sound relevant?"
Amazingly enough this article post coincided with my yearning to improve my understanding of networking and computers in general. In the past 24 hours I've hit about 15 sites with tutorials and information on passing the A+ cert exam. I completely forgot about the CCNA.
Hopefully I can find those books somewhere on the internet, because I am even more broke than a blonde joke.
What other certs would anyone recommend? I just want to add some credibility to my resume.
Perhaps it's just my lousy cooking skills, but I don't think this would work for restaraunts because I frequently change my finger/hand prints on the grills.
No doubt... try driving across the states of North Dakota, South Dakota, Wyoming and Nebraska without going insane from the drab scenery. If you like the occassional tree and flat land, then I suppose it wouldn't be the worst, but for any sane person it will drive you to the point where you're playing stupid games like counting car colors.

seriously did anyone else try clicking the link at the bottom of the article? What the HELL was that?! The stupid ad took up the whole page AND the little X button was a trick! COME ON... the damn thing NEVER went away... it would fade out and just as soon as you move your mouse it faded back in!@#$%!%# If thats what the WWW is coming to, count me out.. I'll just stick to the trollgroups and the HARDCORE IRC!
Ok for all you Win98(devil) advocates out there, try explaining how stable Windows 98 is to my bosses at Perkins. Tell them how reliable it is when they're sitting at the computer trying to add another employee in, getting to the point where they just have a few more tidbits of information in, and then watching as the system stops responding. I guarantee you'll get a kick in the balls and a complimentary knuckle sandwich. Windows 98 is anything but stable, unless you're comparing it to Windows 95 or MacOS(aside from the newer os x). Who woulda thought OS's would crash, much less crash on a regular basis until 95 and MacOs and their antecessors entered the scene.
But all in all I have to admit that Windows 2k and Windows XP are very stable if you tweak the configurations a bit. Still nothing compared to Linux, but a giant step ahead of their predecessors.
I wonder how that happened? Someone helped out a "n00b"?? I thought "n00b"s were the scum of the earth and should be treated worse than Viatnamese hookers in beverly hills...
You got lucky punk.. lucky this isn't counter-strike...
I can attest to this... MS practically bought our school. It is under the behemoth's iron fist when it comes to anything computer related at the school.
I didn't have too many qualms about the computers running windows being as how they all had the latest development software for free. Where I drew the line was when they told me that in order to hook my OWN computer up to the network I HAD to be running a Microsoft OS or face permanent termination.
I don't agree with this point. I have been an introvert for nearly all of my life, but I have always had a good sized group of friends, and I loved to hang out with them. Yet I could never handle being around them TOO much. I would usually make up some excuse to stay at home and recharge after I couldn't take it anymore.
I was hardly ever picked on at school though, as I was well-liked by most of my peers. I have begun to notice a change as of late, however. I find myself more attracted to be with more people and go to larger parties instead of hanging out with my same group of friends. I still get pretty drained when I'm out too much, and I have to have my alone time, but its not near as much as before. I used to be really shy, and I'm not so much anymore. I would've thought perhaps it is part of puberty, but I am past that by a few years now so I'm not sure what the deal is. Perhaps influence of drugs...
You're telling me in the article header that any linux, macos, etc os password can be cracked in 3 1/2 hours? Why didn't they tell me that years ago when passwd files weren't all shadowed?!
I took a flight to Houston about a month ago(too damn hot there btw) and they allowed cell phone use before and after take-off. The only times they had qualms about it were during the actual take-off and the landing. Not only were you allowed to use any electronic devices, but there were also Verizon Wireless phones in the back of every seat complete with internet access and credit card swipers. Not too shabby.
Amen to this. I know exactly what you're talkin about man.. it really is the pits... I gotta hide out from my girlfriend for an hour after work just so I can get a couple rounds of CS in. Or read a chapter or two out of a book that normally woulda taken me a day to read, but ends up taking 2 months.
Heh.. speaking of which my hour is up... gf has arrived.. laters.:(
If perhaps there was a way for windows to send all ACK packets before any other data, so my downloads dont drop to 30 k/s and lower when Im using my entire upstream bandwidth. But there isn't a way, so I don't use it.
or maybe some rabbits happened upon his thread...

Bout a day late, and way too messy. No points for you!
You goddamn bastards are wasting our time.
Fuck off until you can prove that we're stealing your code.
Pieces of shit.

"Thanks, that explains a lot."

Thanks in advance.
You were about a half hour late, and not even near as funny. Be gone.
Amazing.. you are almost a perfect example of what the anonymous coward a couple posts above you was talking about. I'm flabergasted!
Kudos to the AC

I wish they'd just hurry up and show their bluff.. I tire of all the SCO news. Dagnabbed court system.

It's called shrink wrap. Yeah its a trick of the pro's, I know... not too hard to get ahold of one of those machines..
Microsoft announces plans to merge with SCO.
So you'd like to work at a blank page? Is that what you're trying to tell us? Or you'd rather not work? :P

Well lets just hope that they are screening the aircraft controllers like they are everything else in the airport.
We wouldn't want the computer to tell a terrorist in disguise how to better crash the planes together now would we?

WTF!? Dakota State University = OWNED!
I used to believe everything I saw on TV.. now I don't believe in anything.

4096 * 3 seconds = 12288 = roughly 205 minutes = roughly 3 1/2 hours
