To create life is electricity and complex molecules, that's why we do it here all the time. That's why we've figured out how to create life out of nothing but molecular sludge and electricity...
They should know what those yellow brown stains on the ice are... someone had a super biggulp on the way to europa and couldn't hold it!
I've seen countless things in the news lately, and am really getting the feeling that at some point we are going to *have* to have a global, secure ID. A lot like the SSN's of today for america, but with two parts, one part that is on the internet, and one part on a random number generator of some sort that we keep on our person. That way, the internet information is useless.
Like it or not, at some point it seems like EVERONE's data gets stolen. I'm uber-paranoid about giving my info to anyone, but I KNOW that there is info floating around the internet about me that someone could use to steal my identity. Is anyone working on a two part identity sytem like this that isn't proprietary?
It seems that I've read this a lot in video card reviews. "It seems that the GeforceFX is the clear leader in pure processing power, but in memory bandwidth the 9700 Pro is still king."
What is stopping the companies from putting the best of everything on one card? Is there some underlying process that i'm missing? It's been this way for a while, on will have the best memory, and the other a faster processor. I can just imagine some engineer explaining to the pointy haired boss that if we just put the fastest processor AND the fastest ram on the board, we'll dominate the market. The PHB then replies "good, do it, but with only half those things..." and so another card is born...
It's obviously more compicated than that, but it seems to follow a pattern...
Wow, coward, I'm impressed that you follow me so closely. Btw,the article you are referring to was in reference to a kaleidoscope, but you probably can't spell that word.
Yeah, it'll be funny when this comes out as a hoax... or "not quite" what they thought it was. Every once in a while someone drudges something up to try to breath new life into the evolution theory... Most modern day scientists know in their heart that there are just too many holes in the theory. They just can't admit that there must be a higher power out there that "at the very least" initiated it all.
Honestly people... like the first post said, if things are 68 million light years away, it's not new, we just hadn't seen it yet... There are lots of things we probably haven't seen yet, because of the fact that they are too far away for the light to have reached us.
We are NOT alone in this world. God watches over all of us. (thankfully)
Let the flames begin.

Here in the Portland, OR area, there are OPB Knowledge stores, and Hobby stores, and a couple of "educational" toy stores that have kalidescopes, microscopes, telescopes, chem labs, those foam dinosaurs that you put in water, sea monkeys, etc. Just a thought... That's where you should be shopping for your kids anyway... KB is just one cheap plastic piece of crap after another... (except the new transformers, which are surprisingly hard...)
Ah, good ol Mutual assumptions... They have killed me good a couple of times... I just finished a giant (to me, at least) ecommerce site with over 700 products, all integrated into a shopping cart with affiliate programs, coupons, rebates, and discounts. Angler's Collection
There isn't anything particularly impressive about the site, other than it was done by one person, in a month from start to finish. It was also built from scratch, not using the shopping carts layout because my words "the layout won't be exactly like you have outlined there once we get into the shopping cart portion" came out to him as "of course I can lay that out to the nth degree EXACTLY as you have it spec'd there..."
Overall though, I firmly believe that if the customer had gone to a "web-house" or some large company to get the job done, he would still be entrenched in meetings and the site would only be half done.
As such, he came to me with a plan, and we worked the plan, if something came up, (which it did, mind you) then we worked it out in an hour on the phone. I laughed out loud at the "current state of physics" comment... it's very true. Customers have no clue what something takes to implement, they just saw it on some other site, and want it... Very fun to work through at times.
Most of the time, with the big companies I've worked with, it's not so much about solving the problems of the customer, it's about egos, and hidden agendas, and such... Too much crap to get anything done in the time it should take. There is a certain security in working for a big company, but I know one thing, after playing the corporate mind game for too many years, I'll never go back. I don't know how anyone does it. I'd take ramen for a month and no heat before I had to deal with that again.
With the DVD option, and a some monitor creativity, you have a pretty cool car unit that is a full function computer, add a gps, play mp3's, dvd's, cd's, whatever... and it wouldn't take up a ton of space.
The problem comes when everyone does it, Granted, if one person steals "extra" bandwith no one notices, but if it becomes known how to do, and known that the "faceless" isp's can't/won't do anything about it, then someone will post it on/. and everyone will do it. Now where are we? suddenly 1/4 of the people using the service are getting a lot more bandwidth than they should, and... I think you can follow it from there.

This site here, http://www.freeimages.co.uk/ claims that you can use the pics for whatever you see fit.
No, I don't work there... They also say that you can't use them in collections, which I suppose is their way of saying that they don't want you taking all of their images and doing what they are doing with them... 8-)

Why does the "Postings about blender" link tell me the security cert has been revoked? and then it says something about a secure site, and then i see the search, and no secure site?
If they put a back light in it, what would make you go buy an upgraded version in a year when you were used to the palm, but really craved a backlight?
