In the US, the "two party system" is a sham designed to keep the real power(s) (in power) and no one could ever have a successful third party. In fact, the most successful "third party" presidential candidates (Libertarian & Green) are forbidden entry into the presidential debates (even as audience attendees). In many states new laws have been passed which effectively prevent any participation by third party groups by making it impossible to get a candidate on the ballot. In the US (IMHO) the government is just a tool of the vast financial interests that are the real masters of the US of A.

So, I really need to bring in "The Secret Plans" on my laptop `cause I'm too dumb to send them as encrypted, hidden attachment(s) via email from and to anonymous email accounts or Usenet postings?

The largest organized crime cartel on the planet want's to keep "the war on drugs" alive forever because it generates vast amounts of cash for local government, the prison industry and law enforcement! Who cares that it doesn't work.

The real breakthrough will be takeoff to spaceflight in one stage with a sustained 1G of acceleration (I seem to remember that 1G X 355 days = 92% C) if we do that our future may be brighter than it looks now.

I would think that you would want something more secure that FTP or windows copy, even rsync should be across a secure connection.
