I agree that more analysis should be done in the media. I also think that more investigating needs to be done and not the media as it seems to be taking the "official" story be it gov, corp or social out put by the source. Wikileaks should put out the video and not editorialize it. Have the video out with possibly a narrative of apparent events as objective as possible ("man with object in his hands appears to point it at helo"). Perhaps another section of the site open for moderated discussion on the material released.
Us humans sure like yelling at each other over conflicting view points
I took a picture of a line and poster one the wall in Wells Fargo. There was a huge line and ONE teller and the poster had a happy customer with a slogan like: "we like to be quick about your business". Right way an asst manager who was not helping anyone roared out "hey, you can't take pictures in here, Delete it right now!" I was of course emailing it to myself at that moment. "Sorry to late" Oh and she got mad. She said "I could call the police on you, you can't take photo's in here" "Really there is no sign, and why can't I?, I have been coming in this branch for 6 years, I have both personal and business accounts. I could walk though here blind folded. Go ahead ask me how many stanchions are behind me, and how many feet from the last one to the door". I did not move out of line, she ran off and got the bank manager who could see she was just being pissee asked me half heartedly if he could please see what I took a photo of. I show him and he shipishly asked that I refrain from taking photos in the bank. The cow that started it sniply called out "I ask before I take photos somewhere" I responded "I do not". And I went about my banking business. She does not work there any more.
The irony in my area is that if I want unlimited data I have to purchase cable TV. Yes it sucks and I have to pay $160 for a 6MBS connection that comes with a free phone and cable.:(
I have a few very small business in two states and I have had friend requests from lawyers in both who were looking for a payday, er some reason to sue me (not me, my business) over. I have my privacy settings as tight as possible, post nothing about "work" and really post nothing of substance (and don't play stupid games). I only use FB to keep in contact with a wide spread group of friends.
I don't care if the SSL matches the domain. That's what my bank is for. If I am scammed (and my card was captured once and I found I was being charged $19.95 a month by a "Healthcare" company based in Greece, I am 100% sure was a scam) I call my bank and say "HEY, someone snagged my card and is using the number!"
So what I care about is the encryption side of SSL., I perceive that snooping is more likely then stolen card numbers as I am pretty careful about what online shops I use. But its all a crap shoot.
I am a relatively normal member of society (as in not a punk, emo, neotribal, etc) and can fit in in most anywhere in America. I have a bunch of tattoos (no science based) and my kids love them. No of it is flash and all of it is by my hand, I am lucky that I am a decent artiest. I agree with you by the most part. Much thought should be given to a tattoo, do not buy a picture from a book in the tattoo shop, no good will come of that.
Right there with you, only it seems all my friends moved out of this town (which all of us moved to). It seems I live in a city of transients, with friends who are transients. Which you expect from the city that I live in and from going to boarding skoool. This is not the best thought out post, no coffee yet.
Then there is that pesky 1st Amendment. I have personally been bounced from two "positions of public trust" for writing (off work topic and yes, I have learned my lesson) on the web.
A few years ago, before Firefox and Safari had any market share I used to find from time to time websites requiring me to use IE. Since it was not possible at the time (IE had not been updated for Apple in a few years) you know what happened? I did not use their service and I did not miss it, I just used a competitor who allowed me to use my browser. Didn't matter if it was a back of a brokerage account, or a Japanese tee shirt shop (whatever). Now I never encounter that kind of message anymore. Is this a positive example of free market? I am not sure, but it might be!
How exactly will the US (ie, my country) block the sale of one company based in Israel to another company based in Russia? On what grounds do we [sic] have the authority to do this?
1500 pounds? Humm, you are going to drive that on the hwy? You are braver then I. I think the Jeep Wrangler weighs twice that. What kind of engine is in a 1500 pound plane, wait I know, what kind of safety cage is in that? Oh, wait I know that too.
I totally agree with you, save the part where people care. I had to agree to the new iTunes TOS last night. It was FORTY FIVE pages long! Do I not agree to it, no of course not, I don't care at all what it says. It's a handy tool for using, ripping, buying and playing movies and music (though I mostly rip movies I rent, then use front-row to play then on my 45" LCD TV via HDMI). I have an iPhone too so I do need iTunes. You know what pisses me off the most? Not being able to use the songs I "own" to make ring tones (easily).
I think the giant corporations will continue to control how digital media is sent to the masses and I think people will eat it up. Will anyone care that the next boy-band that you can only get as MP3 will never be owned by you and you are only renting the music until it's corrupted, rescinded or obsolete? Not those of us that are switched on and care at all about products and services and the state of "fair use".
Say you have a copy of MS Windows new version whatever. Say you scratch the disk. Try calling them and asking for a new one, after all you paid full price for the right to install it. Don't you "own" a copy of the license? In fact after much transferring you may be able to get a new disk, but it's nearly impossible to get one and most consumers won't even try.
Let me get this straight, you are going to score aggregate search companies for finding stuff on the web. Their inherent job is to find everything, which was first based on all things being equal and the better stuff would be scored higher. So you (Pak) are going to go out looking for stuff you don't like using a services that ups a pages visibility based on people viewing it.
There is a fundamental flaw with your operations sir.
They are phones after all, designed first to make calls, then texts, then data. The whole premise is to send data in wireless form about you to someone else. If you don't want that, then don't install app X on your phone. Easy as pie!
My moms a writer, she lives in a little farm house by herself writing poetry on a half broken iMac no one will ever read with a blind dog at her side that barks at the cows in the field across the street. No one visits her.
Dang good advise if you ask me. My dad, a 'nam vet-turned-mt-recluse told me over and over as I grew up and visited him in his NORCAL mountain cabin. I wish I had listened. It took me well into my 30's to fully understand.....Avoid interaction with the government, (they fuck you at the drive though). You are either all in or all out.
Money and practicality (or lack there of) rarely gets in the way of government. Oregon has already played around with GPS transceivers in autos. Call me a doomist or anarchist but I think this kind of government encroachment on "non-fundamental" freedoms is a near certainty. I am not a libertarian or teabagger, I don't have the answers, sometimes more government regulation is needed, but not this. Anyway, I am just a hillbilly with too many guns, what do I know?
I am not even a real scientists and I don't understand the public.

It would not be called War Mouse. Should be called Ubur-robo-matic-mouse-of-war, and it should be wireless.

By "learned my lesson", I mean I don't do that kind of work anymore.

I am working one it. Just one more line of code, almost there.

You don't get to "test" people's security against their will.
Oh yes you do. It's often called breaking and entering or hacking. It's just usually illegal. ;/
Anyone/anything will wonder what on earth [sic] this is.

Like, who hasn't done this?
Why didn't I think of that?
