I tried this on Rockbox devices and it seemed to work I never did positioning but I tapping was easy. If you listen to the sounds that are recorded when you touch different parts of the device you can hear the difference between four extreme points on the device. The theory behind it is a bit beyond my allotted skill/time though.
I think you need to reread Garys orignal post again.
Sometimes I spend 30 minutes browsing to see what some of my friends are doing now, to see whether there are any fun things to do.. I've manage to meet lots of friends just because I happened to browse Facebook while in town.
Trends pass, but there are people all over the world using Facebook, and there will be for some years in the future. I'm guessing your kids don't feel the command line is that hip either, but it's still here.
Now I almost never use trails while hiking above the tree line and I've never used a GPS for other things than mapping. So for me map + compass really is good if you know how to use them, the compass is big and very accurate so you know where you are running. Then again Silva makes really good compasses, but they are as expensive as an GPS.
On-demand only works for very low volume and books that are old and sell a low but steady volume over a long time, that's probably why those people can afford to do the ebook deal with Amazon there is a steady demand for their books.
There are devices that ask you questions like: "Do you want to transfer 100 Crowns to the account of Emj", they just cost a lot more (like $10 more?). Your scheme is already being used on most devices I've seen, but users don't understand that they even miss that they are not using and encrypted connection.
I'm not from Canada, but you seem to have a fucked up market for broadband. Considering I pay less for 100/100 than you do for 2Mbps it's pretty obvious that either the laws make it impossible to invest in roadband, or someone will soon be making a crap load of money by selling broadband services for lower prices.
I pay 46 $CAD per month for 100/100 with no cap, you are being cheated..

Most desktop replacements got a full size keyboard, everything over 1.3KG or 13" is us too cumbersome for. But since people want to replace desktops they need those 17" with numpad,
I wish there were someway I could bring more power if I need to. I can settle for a sub 13" screen at 1920x1200, and moderate performance, but a small server farm in the backpack would be interesting.
Thank you, exacly what I wanted to say. I mean it hasn't been ruled out that the Meerkat CDs will ship on ICMB from South Africa, which is slightly more likely than the CDs shipping with Btrfs as default.
Apparently PXE only allows a bootloader payload of 32KB, which makes it slow, and these days it wouldn't be a problem to fit a much more competent bootloader in flash on the mother board. So the question is why should I have to boot/download a 4MB Linux kernel to be able to use the 1Gbps drivers?
But you can only know that these people connect4ed to the torrent swarm you don't know for sure if they are uploading or downloading anything, or even how much of the file they have.
To know that they have it all you have to download the file from all of them.
Not really, this is is "easy" to DIY and something that is actually usable at this moment, one projector and a webcam and you can do lots of stuff, and everyone who have their computer at a desk can use it. The wearable stuff shown at TED has a long way to come.
Everyone I know that runs companies tries as hard as they can to keep their money, from their employees or the gov. I think it's ok that the union tries to get as much respect and money as they can as well. There are almost no crooks in management nor in the union, but it's easy to think that if you have need to polarize issues.
Sadly glass comes in a variety of thickness, I'm guessing the MS one will be pansar grade glass at 3.5 inches.

Uhm everyone uses facebook, I've not been to one city where I didn't find someone using facebook.
Visiting KMart in Left4Dead 2 doesn't count as going outside.
That's what's nice with places like github and all the git like webservices, you can actually see peoples patches. Really nice.
On-demand printing may offset some of this.

dedicated smartphone apps [..] blessed by the smartphone manufacturer(apple, google, rim etc).
There goes software freedom, there is no room for user created software on a phone that is used to identify you to your bank.
Each (new) account number should be challenged.

Calling the Netherlands Holland only shows ignorance and arrogance, deal with it.
Most dutch people I've asked don't really care, and in many of the surrounding countries Holland is per definition the same as Netherlands.

Basically the ones that get played on the radio.
Specifically in November this year it will hit second instance and I'm not so sure it will go to the supreme court after that
The second piratebay trial is coming in Sweden as well.

It's like patenting the hammer then telling everyone that means you own the idea of getting nails into wood.
But that's the whole thing with software patents, they are mostly ideas, that's why you don't want them.

It's funny how a Troll rating can really underline the joke, the Troll/Funny Mod should go on pydevs post.
