Yeah I agree that the speed leaves something to be desired but I did not buy this router for that reason. I looked at it as a benefit but like you I was disappointed by the speed and from what I have read your right other routers with similar features are faring no better.
I'll cast my vote for the Asus RT N16 router with the tomato USB firmware. I recently upgraded to this. Before I had a Netgear 3500 with DD-WRT and I can personally tell you the QOS of Tomato is far superior in my experience and replacing the firmware on the router was a breeze. You have to know a little about networking before you jump in and change things though and Tomato information is kinda scarce but a few hours of googling will give some good information. So far this has been the best router I have ever owned and I am loving Tomato. The only downside is it's not 5Ghz though only 2.4.
Well reviews are essentially opinions so you need to take them with a grain of salt. Still there a few truths I never quite got over that I feel cover the entire industry such as.
1.Games on optical platforms (CD or DVD) will be cheaper because of manufacturing cost.
2.Optical platforms will be better because they can hold more information.
3.Load times will be gone in a few years.
Having said this am I disappointed with the industry as a whole? No I have played some incredible games some of which got lousy reviews you just have to think about what pleases you I am not saying stop reading reviews but look at more than one and think about what you like.
Ever installed Adobe Reader, Quicktime,Or Real Player? It seems to be a trend with even legitimate software I mean how else is a company gonna get their toolbar, registry cleaner, search engine, etc onto your computer? I must admit I am not that shocked to see CNET doing this and I believe it's only a matter of time before it spreads everywhere.
Because it's not Google's job. In case you didn't know Youtube and Daily Motion both have family filters, perhaps you should look into using them. I believe it is the parents job to monitor what their kids are exposed to.
I doubt that we will never know the exact truth about what happened at Roswell considering the amount of time passed and the disinformation that has been injected into the claim. So the truth has now come down to what you believe taking on almost religious overtones. As an armature ufologist I have to approach this from a pure scientific standpoint and leave all objectivity aside. Sad to say just as Webmistress said this is a report taken from an individual and proves nothing.
She is not the only one that thought that. I have people call me before plugging them in to this day. Come on people if they were really this volatile we wouldn't have them in our homes.
Almost all the movies I have seen that involve a computer get it wrong but i have narrowed it down to three key points.
1. Very few people use the keyboard as much as it is represented in the movies or TV
2. It does not take less than 30 seconds to back up huge amounts of data.
3. A computer crash or failure does not constitute a huge explosion.
I agree changing the name is like putting up a jolly roger. The real issue is you have to look for good science Fiction elsewhere these days and some other cable channels are stepping up like BBC America, TCM, AMC, or Chiller even. You just have to be observant. I for one say thank god for DVD and Blu Ray.
I agree and have nothing against a classic Science Fiction channel. But I think our beloved Sci Fi channel we grew up watching has just been taken over by a new audience.
We (and by that i mean the geek community at large) made this channel what it is today. Our taste may have changed over the years and it has gained new fans as kids grew older. I think at the core it is still a geek based channel but alot of us who were fans back in the day have gotten older and perhaps jaded. What it means to be a geek has changed and it may not be in line with our thinking. Personally I hate this channel now and make the choice not to watch most of it's programming because it holds no interest for me but I see that is not true with the younger generation. So I make the distinction that I would love to see The old school Galactica, Science Fiction movie classics IE: The Day The Earth Stood Still (1951), Forbidden Planet, Classic Star Trek being broadcast that may not be the consensus nowadays and i am not a majority but a minority. The channel has changed with it's audience and it's audience has grown.
I am a small contractor and I have a reputation that unlike these guys I actually care about. You should always report these kinds of incidences because it helps us to weed out the bad apples.
Given all the bad press that Verizon has had lately I ask myself are they any more evil than other big corporations? Personally having worked for HP and AT&T I don't think so it just that this one incident became public which is why I am independent these days because I simply cant do what these corporations demand without loosing my humanity.
Yeah I have one too and it is just 10/100 on the WAN but I have not seen a home router with 10/100/1000 on the WAN not sure they make such a beast.

Really? I did not know this but maybe the laws have changed I mean who can keep up anymore? I guess you have to buy the full arcade cabinet?
You can download the roms from any source as long as you own the games so I suggest you buy the arcade PCB's of any rom that you download. http://www.jammaboards.com/store/arcade-game-boards-and-pcbs/cat_21.html http://www.quarterarcade.com/Browse.aspx?c=All.Parts.Boards Those are only a couple of the places that you can buy the arcade boards.

Yeah I hear ya. What scares me the most is how quickly this will spread imagine PS3 or 360 games with crap in them.

This is nothing new lately I have noticed everything getting a little more expensive from Gas to Netflix. It may be time to raise my rates.

It's hard to think of Microsoft as a puppy with a Linux distribution called Puppy Linux. I see them more as a confused bitter old goat at this point.
Kinda disappointing that there is no World Backup day. I know a few companies that could stand to observe that.

Somewhere across the galaxy an alien I.T. Administrator is brow beating an alien technician for not securing their wireless.
Being arachnophobic myself i have the perfect name "The Fuck!&$ Spider"

I bet this would look right at home on OS 9

Forget the condoms lets just have a moron hunting season we could use the people who actually thought this was real news.
Would this be the result of the naughty quark discovered by James Isaac Neutron at The Pomina school of advanced Physics?
