Hell, most of the people who live in Tracy work in the Bay Area. And that comute sucks. Besides, who wants to go to Gilroy, Garlic capital of the world, anyways. I bet those folks who live in between Tracy and the Bay Area used some of their dollars to insure some large rail project did not ruin their little towns.

LOL.. this reminds me of my trip to Rome and the Vaticam museum. there was this one Roman era statue that has some nude guy holding a bowl of fruit in front of his groin. What strunk me as odd was the this really goofy smile on his face. Upon closer inspection, the large fruit in the front of the bowl was the tip of his dick. Looking underneath the bowl shows his shaft going into the fruit. Needless to say we all laughed our asses off.

If MS feels that any money spent on OS X versions of software will not be recouped, then they will be much less likely to spend that money.

By far the best manuals, in my not so humble opinion, are Unix man pages. They tell you EVERYTHING you need to know without fluff. The first time I started using unix, I was given the System V Rel 3 programmers, user, and Administrators guide and reference manuals. I read them all and the rest is history. If i want to be entertained, I will read fiction. If I want info, then don't sugar coat it, just give it.

The exeption to this rule has been some of the Nutshell books that are both informative and entertaining. But if you try to add too much humor, the message gets diluted.

The truely funny thing is that not all people will see the same thing when watching Hogan's Heroes. My mother grew up in Germany during WWII. She had to be part of Hitler's Youth and all that stuff even though her father was not a supported of the Nazi party (and died because of it). She married a U.S. GI in the 50's and moved to the US. She absolutely HATED Hogan's Heroes. We all thought it was great, but she made us turn it off when she was around.

  21. Re:The Senator from Disney on Fox Explains Why SSSCA Is Bad · · Score: 2

Campaining currently is expensive. And many politicians have to raise large sums of money to be competitive. Why not take money out of the equation? The airways are public domain which was licensed to comercial entities. I would like to see candadates have free and equal access to the airways. There should be manditory debates. Of course there would be lots of work to ensure only qualified people have access, but that is another story.

Now the problem of having businesses paying for their own airtime in support of a candadate is tricky. You cannot stop that, but HONEST reporting of who is funding it is necessary.

I would even take a closer look at term limits for all elected officials. Running the government was not meant to be a full time job, but rather a place where members of society can spend a few years helping run the country.

You cannot and should not stop people from spending the way they want to, but we can make the process of running for office much much less expensive.

OK, how would this make it worse?
