It is hard to have today's blip in numbers count in the evaluation. (And for a quarterly report at that) I am not arguing that Intel has better processors than AMD. I am saying that Intel makes more money and that is really all Intel cares about. AMD can make a better processor and I bet Intel could care less. I would think that for Intel, as long as they dominate market share and do not have the feds on their back it is all fine with them.
I like how Intel casts AMD as "competition." Intel has a market cap of $153,860.10(Mil) AMD's market cap is $13,277.70(Mil). Last years gross profit for Intel was $23,049.0(Mil).
So... Intel's gross profit for about 7 months would be ALL of AMD's complete market capitalization. How can you call that competition? What a great way to dominate a market, while keeping the feds off your back!
Also, many laptops have a button you can push that disables the built-in wireless feature until you hit that button again. Turning off the wireless connection when you are not using it also prevents this from being a problem.
Back in the 80s there was an article in Fortune about how there would not be a Fortune 500 in a few years because of all of the mergers.
Well, it never happened.
There was another article just a couple years ago revisting that article showing how with every major merger there are groups of individuals that come out of the mergers to form their own startup and some of those grow into Fortune 500 companies.
So, I doubt that the merger of two cellphone companies will lead to a giant mega corporation running the whole industry. There is too much competition.

The area around Sparwood is also very beautiful. (Nestled in the heart of the Canadian Rockies) You will find alot of nice hiking and climbing all through the Crows Nest Pass area on into Vancouver, BC.
It seems to me that a terrorist could use this system to cause panic without ever using the agents on a large scale. They could just get some agents to deploy a very small amount at different sensors they identified throughout a metro area and that would cause enough panic to disrupt what they want to disrupt. How do they plan on concealing this?
I was at Thanksgiving dinner back in 2000 and I was sitting at a table with a Retired Major General from the Air Force. He was talking about testing one of the features from this system. Apparently they were standing in a hotel room in Pentagon City, VA and using a handheld device they were having vehicles drive up a ramp at the FedEx Field in Maryland (not visible by line of site) and they could identify what type of vehicle drove up the ramp.
I just wish I had some idea of how that works. Of course I didn't feel it was my place to start questioning the guy right there...
Has anybody ever been to the Church Brew Works in Pittsburgh, PA? http://www.churchbrew.com/ It is a pretty neat place. They have big vats up on the Alter that brew the beer. You can get to the giftshop by going through one of the confessionals. It has been in Pittsburgh for a few years now (Since 1996). So, I doubt they are going to get shut down or anything. I personally think the place is pretty cool.

The United States Minerals Management Service (MMS) has done an extensive amount of investigation and research on this topic. Since they regulate federal offshore waters, this has been a topic of interest to them. Of course Japan would be pushing this technology because they have the largest know reserve of hydrates off their coast. In the U.S. there is a large reserve off the coast of South Carolina. Unfortunately this is in a development restricted area so research opportunities have been slow developing.
Hopefully we will see more new stories about this type of research in the future.
Why does everybody get all hyped over electric cars, but, mention little of CNG(Compressed Natural Gas) cars. They burn clean and use an abundant domestic resource.
Electric cars seem clean to the consumer, but, they plug into the big dirty power grid at least once a day, which is powered mostly by coal.
I think I would choose natural gas over coal anyday.

It seems to me that the small percentage investment that Clear Channel has in XM is nothing compared to the direct leadership of Mel.

I have to disagree with this statement...
it's still 100 times better than eating a double-double from In and Out.
