Us 6B people were forced into this situation. No one asked us if we wanted to live the existence we would potentially live before we were born
How do you know you did not have a choice?
The answer is, no one really knows for sure. If there is such a thing as reincarnation, there could also be a choice involved. Your soul could choose to live another life, because maybe you had fun in your previous lives and want to take that 75 year ride again.
I named my DAOC char "CarpelTunnelSyndrom". I know it's spelled wrong, but I was drunk when I made the character, so lay off:). The reason I named him that is because the way DAOC displays kills. Whenever a I kill another player in combat a broadcast message is sent saying:
I have to agree with you that from watching the WPT on the Travel Channel I have learned a lot about the game of poker. It has helped me win a little bit of money from my friends... I will occasionally bluff a hand on purpose and make sure everyone knows I bluffed it. Then when I have a good hand people think I am bluffing;).
BTW, the WPT is on the Travel Channel Wednesdays at 8PM and like 2 or 3PM on Saturdays.
I know this is a little off topic, but you say it is a 3-CD set. Why don't they release this title on a single DVD? If you look at the requirements to run the game, its somewhere around 933MHz for a minimum. Most computers sold with those specs or above came with a DVD-ROM drive, so I think it would be cheaper for them to release a set with 1 DVD rather than 3CDs.
I didn't know Conker had a new title out (I don't follow new game releases any more). That was my favorite game for the N64. I may just go pick up an X-Box, cuz that game was hilarious.
I believe it was made available for the Alpha chipset. I have never seen it working, but I do remember in the MSDN seeing and x86 (or whatever they called it) and an Alpha CD. I also beleive some or all of the Visual Studio tools were available for the Alpha Chipset as well.
That's Funny, because I just patented my 2 methods of posting on slashdot. If you use the Submit button without Previewing then it will cost you an arm and a leg, but if you use the preview button, there are no liscensing fees attached.
This should increase the readability of all slashdot posts:).
I have not had a virus in eight years either, and I am a windows user. I am intelligent enough not to open unknown file attachments (actually I open them in notepad and figure out what the program actually does). My sister OTOH has infected her computer plenty of times and I am always the one that has to go fix it. The biggest propagators of these viruses are the end users. The only reason Outlook is the target is because it is widely used by end users.
Perhaps what Nintendo really needs is to come out early while being as developer friendly as possible.
They don't even need to do that. They just have to be friendly with a few large development shops (EA would definately increase Nintendo's marketshare) They need some good sports titles and they need to shake that "cartonny" (is that a word?) image. Sure they can continue to provide the Mario, Link and Metroid series, but I beleive some good EA titles, coupled with a cheaper price would help nintendo out.
About 3 months ago I was really considering buying a ReplayTV, but with the whole bankruptcy thing swirling around I became a bit anxious. I have been speaking with people who currently own a Replay and they said their service is still great, so I was starting to come back around. This whole thing has just sent me back towards the Tivo way. I would love to get a Tivo, but I do not have a phone line in my house (cell phone is the only phone I need). Hopefully I can find a Tivo that will not require a phone line, and I will be all over it.
What about the children (17 and under) that installed this software? It is my understanding that in most(all?) states a minor cannot enter a legally binding contract. Could the parents of these children have any recourse against Gator?
I don't know the answer to this, I am just throwing it out there as an option.
That is why you are seeing different types of MMORPGs showing up. No doubt everyone has heard of Everquest and some of us have heard of Dark Age of Camelot. Now I would put these games in the D&D genre, but there are a new crop of games coming out such as Star Wars Galaxies and City of Heros which will appeal to different types of people.
Now you are right that the people who play these games (myself included) can only play one or two at a time, but I know that my interest fluctuates in the games. So I may be playing one game for a few months, but it is refreshing to be able to pick up a different title and immerse myself in that for a few months. This variation keeps me interested with small amount of time that I do spend gaming. It is a nice break from school and work.
but a friend of mine told me that even if someone has a ton of experience, and then they graduate college with a bachelor's or masters or whatever
That is true. I worked full time as a programmer while getting my BS in Computer Science. Every time I go on an interview now they take the current year and subtract the year I graduated from college and say, "So you have had X years of experience." I always have to go back and explain well I worked full time while I was in college, "So I have X+4 years of experience." Most people I have interviewed with still do not acknowledge those 4 years of experience.
Verizon can identify that person, but they should not just turn it over to the RIAA. If this were a criminal case and it was a member of law enforcement, it would be a different story. It seems to me that the RIAA is on a fishing expedition to see how much they can get away with and how far they can push corporations to comply with their wishes.
Nagging: Get your boyfriend/husband to the ballet
Cosmetic Commuting: Put makeup on while you drive
Divorce: You get half of everything
Cingular SUV: Talk on your cell phone while driving... Try not to take out the school children
Breaking the glass ceiling: Sleep your way to the top of a fortune 500 company
Begging for a Benz: You are a 16 year old girl and you need daddy to buy you a benz
Starve Yourself: The anorexia game
If you take this seriously, you need to chill out... I AM JOKING
Why do people jump out of perfectly good airplanes?
Maybe these reincarnates are doing it for the rush, or lack of a rush.
To each his own.

Everyone gets a laugh on that one.

Just obtain a copy of the ASS (Acronym Specification Sheet) and you will be ok.

And we all know that EULAs are enforceable in court.
I can't beleive they found 33 men between 18 and 23 who have never played video games before.
That seems like quite a strech, unless they did there recruiting in Amish country.

I think it is pretty obvious:

Entertainment Weekly is owned by
AOL Time Warner
AOL is in cahoots with EA for the Madden Bowl
EA may be mad they did not get the number 1 slot

I couldn't help thinkin of the Simpsons on this one:
Lisa: It's wonderful to think for ourselves again.
Bart: You said it, sister!
TV: You are watching Fox.
All: [Zombie-like] We are watching Fox.
MobileWise has a similar product.
I saw both of these reviewed on TechTV because they were at the CES show a couple of months back.
They seem pretty cool but I really do not want to see the pricetag.
