They got that bridge in Alaska that goes to nowhere... and then we got the stuff in New Orleans.... hmmm which is more important, major city with lots of people, or small island in alaska that has 50 people on it.
Decisions, decisions... would be better to run the government on the flip of a coin....
Bad example, forcing patches on a single player game like Final Fantasy would mean that you would do whatever it takes to make saved games work. And for Final Fantasy 11 the MMORPG, deal with it, things change in those faster than I change my socks. And my laundry each week consists of at least 100 pairs of socks. If you keep a character diverse and aren't using the FOTM, which those are normally the ones to get nerfed first, then you should be fine.
And god forbid it patches your game where if you do a certain thing or whatever the game crashes.
And you can turn patches off! Just click on properities on Steam and on the game, and it will come up "Update regularly" or "Don't download any content"
Problem fixed! Although when the servers update you are going to have to upgrade anyhow and you are back in the same situtation...
And here's an idea, what if a patch added new levels, but kept the same details that were there before.
Patches can be good and bad. Game designers usually don't make bad patches because then you lose customers. Losing customers is bad, ask anybody running a business.
Most RPGs, death means the end, and having to go back to the last checkpoint, it would be interesting to see if an RPG took a new twist on this, like death meant being sent to jail, or some other exciting experience, something that a. could be beneficial to your character, but b. also be challenging and not something you want to do often.
Blame the American Public Education System on that... Hey I even got in the 95+ percentile on the GED.
But hey my school is going to be on ESPN for their reality high school football team or whatever. Because what really is important in high school is the freaking sports!
Only one test run on that stupid ass Russian shuttle, so it really wouldn't be conclusive anyhow.
Doesn't matter how it faired, the shuttle has been a waste of money and space. Keep It Simple Stupid policy should be for rockets too, and the shuttle is hardly the simplest solution.
Strict Regulations meaning: A. Safety, and B. Not allowing rockets to fall into hands that can use them for some nefarious purpose, like holding the moon for ransom.
We have a large amateur rocket community so obviously there isn't anyone stopping them. And seriously if you wanted to really build rockets it would be probably cheaper to not do it in the US anyhow. Hell its cheaper to launch them from the equator too...
The thing is... No company wants to invest money because the cost outways the benefits to stockholders. Does that mean we shouldn't spend government money on it? No, because it benefits humanity and society, which the government is there to serve to, in theory anyway, in practice is a different story.
What exactly is stopping people from privatizing space now?
I see really nothing in the way. Except that its an investment of hundreds of millions of dollars, and the return value is more of a scientific return instead of a profit return which is what any rich person investing money really wants. Scientific stuff coming back is essentially unsellable. In that regard it will be in the hands of government for a long time, and hell more money should be spent on it and other things that go towards the good of the people.
I have played BF2, and it is ridiciously easy to take out infantry with a 120 shell. Or a 50 cal. Crouch or going prone gives better aim, so does, stopping and aiming... Running in with guns blazing like the movies doesn't work. If you have played Call of Duty or Counterstrike this should be second nature to you. Sorry, its not Quake or RtCW.
but what if you had 100 people with 50 acres... then you could all work together, and share the machinery... Cooperating and Competing should go hand in hand, in today's market they seem to be on opposite poles.
What is really annoying is 60% of a cities space is dedicated to cars.
That could be easiler utilized by small farms...
Sustainable cities have been dreams since the 60s. Even a half-assed one, but well done in existence, especially since it hasn't received much funding.
But they do it with facial recognition technology. I don't see how this is any different or a problem. I would like to see laws that this type of information has be placed on the record and people have to be made aware of it.
The 8th flavor is an Open Source Windows. Microsoft denies its existence.

50 years from now, the war makers will be arguing over more sticks? or more stones?
Prohibition?
Oh wait we already did that...
It Las Vegas, and thats easy. Just declare gambling to be illegal, and profit by seizure of assets like the drug war does!
We could probably pay for several wars by doing that!
Oh, and then sell the land to the Native Americans as soverign land and tell them quit'cher'bitching.

I would say Los Angeles or Washington D.C.
Both are very far from any known civilisation.
"I want the monetary value of my opinion."
Here's your two friggin' cents... Some people, I tell you!

I think we have found the first sign of intelligence on the Internet! How long before it takes over?
Since when have wallabies started migrating 9000 miles to Oregon?
Which took it from Quake's Team Fortress mod... almost left that important tidbit out.... I should preview more often
And RtCW stole them from Half-Life's Team Fortress...

I could have sworn McDonald's already had this technology and has been using it for years now.
I am getting a response, and can see the site... Its at: http://www.hymn-project.org/
right?
Oh crap and I thought the Terri Schiavo was dead and buried already!
People tend to take the route that gets them more money, its one of the downfalls of society, people value money more than ethics or morals.
