Did you look at ALL the pictures. I dunno, personally in the finished pictures on the bottom row, I don't think it looks half bad. Better than the beat up AM/FM tape decks in most of the 10 year old used cars my friends have. This isn't something I'd do in a nice new car, but it looks like a decent enough job.

In effect its things like this that MS is banking on making the XBox a success. Why pay $700+ dollars for a PC to play the latest SW game, instead of $200 for an XBox.

In the original Justice League, you had all these super-human super heros and then Batman. He was like this sorta dark guy who was out for good, but also wasn't super righteous like the super-human guys. In the comic, he made sure he know everyone elses secret weekness, and was prepared to exploit it if need be. Now I haven't read all of these cause well, I haven't even seen most of them, but I've been informed by people who've read them, that in Super Man's case, Batman had a gun with kryptonite bullets or something along those lines. And also was able to figure out who Super Man's alter ego was. I also seem to recall that Batman knew were Super Man's ice cave was, but I'm a bit less certain about this bit.

Basically while Super Man is the definition of pure physical strength, Batman is the definition of pure cunning. Batman was a loner always, even when fighting for good, and as such mistrusted even his "super" friends, and was always ready to cover his own ass first if need be.

That all ended though once AOL came in. Different people starting using different messengers, and it just got tougher and tougher to keep track of who was who on which messenger.

I think AOL IM's rise con be directly connected with the rise of AOL in the home market. These people were pushed AOL IM, and by the time people got to an environment (work, college, etc.) where they could use another client, they didn't know any better.

There are a few programs for some RTSs and EQ, that will show you information on a second screen. The EQ one will display maps and statistics on creatures you are fighting, in numerical terms, as opposed to the innacurate color bars in the game interface. The RTS ones that I've seen on the web sound similar. Usually posts things like resource statistics, and running totals of game info. I've also heard rumors of quake hacks that work similarly, like showing a map with blips where people are located, but haven't seen this one firsthand.

I mean look at the space station, Congress is trimming billions from the program, as well as forcing them to scale back the number of shuttle launches a year. Add to that the fact that had funding stayed at levels from the mid 80s, a Mars mission would likely be already well under way. It just always seems like the first manned mars mission is like 15 years away. In the 80s they said we'd do it around the turn of the century, then in the 90s it was somewhere between 2005 and 2010. From what I've read the fewer screens isn't so much from the mega-plexes with like 20 screens, but rather the indipendent theaters. Lucas and 20th Century put some pretty big demands on theaters in regard to how long it had to stay on their biggest screen and revenue sharing, etc. All of which made it much more difficult for the smaller theaters with only like 4-5 screens to show the movie, and still operate normally.

This is at least what I gathered from an article that was on CNN a week ago. A quick scan didn't find the article, and I haven't had my coffee yet, so I'm too lazy to hunt. If I find it, I'll post it here.

Actually a one time pad is mathematically proven to be secure. The biggest problem is that a protocol using it is much tougher to find.

A one time pad is completely random therefor you could take any message, "Bob had a car" and it could decrypt to ANY message of the same length, given the right pad. The biggest problem with a true one-time pad is that as the name implies it can only be used once, and needs to be the same size as the message its encrypting.

The best practical example of one-time pads is probably the hotline between washington and moscow. The crypto course I took explained that a very very large random one time pad was created to encode the message, and new pads are periodically created and taken by curier to each site. I believe a similar method is also used for transmitting launch codes to Nuke site.

Then again its been over a year, and my memory of the course is a little fuzzy.
