There is really no point of putting up a story about every time we have a big flare, because this could go on for awhile and is really quite normal behavior.

Well, the issue is that different distrobutions include different sets of tools. Some, for example, include many more daemons (think apache, mysql, etc) and turn them on by default. Also, there will be a noticible difference between Gentoo built for Athlon versus Gentoo built for i386, for example. Similarly, the default build instructions are different for different distros. You might download a Redhat ISO targetted for the i586 (pentium) or perhaps Mandrake targetted at i686. So in those cases, often, it would matter.

True, it is kind of worrying that anyone that accepts any outside money is put in charge of anything, but there are two things to consider about that: a) no one accepts funding from any industry, only the rich can afford to run for office, b) How many other people have been payed off by the entertainment industry? If these are somewhat typical contributions on the part of the MPAA, then we might have lost the game...

It isn't like it is the MPAA's job to pick someone that will fairly consider both sides of the issue.

From 1996-2001, the Iraqi oil revenue was a total of less than 51 billion. It will cost significantly more than $10 a year to maintain a 'colony' in Iraq. Even assuming upkeep was nothing, and there were no costs after today in Iraq for the US, it would take more than a decade to "pay off" the invasion costs. There are cheaper ways of acquiring the oil than that. Many other countries simply put money in Sadam's pocket, and leased rigs. This is much more cost effective. I think a lot of what the administration has said was bullshit, but I don't buy the blood for oil policy either. People should wisen up and realize that there ARE more important things to the administration than money (i.e. power).

So far he says it works far better than he expected, and has generated any serious errors (it tends to be better at picking out the appropriate medical words than at transcribing normal english. because the doctors tend to use rather obscure words). They still proofread the transcriptions as an error checking, but over all, it has been more accurate than even human transcription and cheaper too.
