I can see the grossly under-paid TSA Employees thinking: "Yay! We got one! We got a terrorist!" Too bad they don't go to school to learn the difference between Art and Terror Plans!
I have to say that I ma sadened by this news. I still play D&D (and not the mommas-boy versions of 3.0 or 3.5 either). I know that he hasn't been associated with D&D for a long time, but I remember buying the BAsic and Expert boxed sets on the very early 80's and being totally overwhelmed by it. But I soldiered on and figured it out. In fact, my 6 year old and my wife play weekly. It has helped him focus in school and has greatly improved his imagination.
Gary, you will be missed by several generations of RPGers.
Hubble went through this with it's lensing, I am sure every great leap has suffered some setbacks. But we need to remember that when dividing by anything to carry the 1 and make sure it has a safe home. Let this be a lesson to us all!
M$, speaking on Business level, has had great ideas. What company doesn't want to Dominate thier Market?
M$'s Products are the real reason why most people hate them. I have never heard someone say, "Boy that Office XP is the best thing since beer in a can". Most of thier software is NOT geared tomorrow simplicity. There is an ever-growing Senior demographic to consider as well.
If they would spend the extra 2 months to work out all of the bugs instead of beefing up thier "Automatic Update".
Here's a concept, lets test it til it breaks, fix it / improve it, retest, repeat as necessary, until the bugs are worked out.
Bill Gates has something like $98 Billion and he can't get the code to work fork for his applications?
I thought that the Boomerang Project from 1998 and 2003 proved that beacuse the background radiation in space was spread out the way it is, that this disproved that Space-Time was curved? Check out http://cmb.phys.cwru.edu/boomerang/.
Not that I wanted this to be true, but what I watched on NASA TV in 2003 said that it was the facts.
So if his General Theory is 99.95% accurate, is this the.05% variance?
I play WoW and so does my wife. I do still go out and buy games, but they are usually games for the XBOX not the PC. I do still download demos and play various Beta's.
Most of the people that I work with play WoW and one of them actually lost his job because he was working on WoW @ work, not playing but looking up items and planning out raids and guild stuff.
Anyone remember Ultima Online? That game almost ruined my marriage, I stopped playing MMORPG's after that for a long time until City of Hero's came out, then someone hooked me on WoW.
There are good points here that every Linux Newbie should read. I agree with most of them. I think that what wasn't said was that for most Linux Users it is an upgrade for people that want the "Fine-grained control" over the simplicity.
I have Ultiamte TV at home and I find that I am paying for a service that I use less and less. If I could find music and video that I could play on my TV with a P2P type application for UTV... Talk about Couch Potato!!! w00t!
In So.Cal the tradition is to watch Twilight Zone Marathon. The one that I wait for every year is the one with Burgess Merideth who plays a man who loves to read but his wife and boss keep crossing all the words out of his books so he goes into the bank vault where he works and curls up with his newspaper when...BANG! An atomic Bomb goes off killing everyone but him! He finds the library and stacks up all of his books for each month and he couldn't be happier. Just then he trips and falls and breaks his coke-bottle glasses which he needs dearly to read.:)
Happy New Year!
Didn't you know that CNN doesn't tell the whole truth? Capitalist pigs! Does not surprise me that China want's to shelter their people from the real world. That's how they try to keep everyone scared enough to be submissive.
Don't forget that Linux and Unix are notorius for thier Documantation. Everything is documented. It would tell you what to expect and where to find it. If it is in/usr/bin then so be it, the docs would tell you exactly where it is.
I think that there will always be at least one person whom you bond with at work. As the Webmaster for my company I deal alot with the Network Admin. I feel that because of the constant communication we share all the time this has brought us closer as friends than it has with the guy in the payroll dept. Would I help him pave his driveway? Probably. Only if he buys the drinks;)
Think Geek has Neon Light Strips that would bring out the best in any gamer. I believe they come in Blue and Green and are around $50 USD. They are formable and use very little power and they can plug right in to your power supply! Very Kewl!

Peace.
Looking forward to $3.00/gallon gas prices and losing my job....
I was curious when City of Villians will be rolled up with City of Heros?
It would be very kewl to be able to choose, at time of character creation, either a Hero or a Villan.
Please let us know if, and when, this should happen.

I like the fact that they give you an emulator to play with until you can ever afford the real thing!

Just curious if Iowa is the only state with this law?
I have noticed that in comparison to IE it takes longer to find a site. Has anyone else noticed this?

I have had the most fun playing UT for Linux. It took a bit to compile and install but was well worth it. Rune is kewl as well (Same Engine).
Cheers!
Nice Point! You can stay.
Seems to me that not too long ago they were not a communist country and therefore could explore technology and information.
