Damn zippy. I have a friend that went to buy the XP upgrade and he's like "F-that. I thought it was be about 40 bucks or something. I'll stick with 98." (I threw on Win2k Prof. for him but that's besides the point.)

If M$ hadn't had all these back alley treaties to have the OS pre-installed from all the big distributors, who's to say they'd have as big a slice of the pie?

Sure it's possible, but we'll never TRULY know will we?

there's this crapy Disney movie that was on late like called Zenon or something and they had these all in one pda's (it did take place in the future and yes i realize its just movie magic) but they looked like they were about 5 inches across diagonally. so yeah.. my 2 cents

But isn't it the burden of proof on the music and movie industry to actually prove that people are pirating (and not by getting the FBI to raid homes) and not the job of Congress to pass sweeping legislation for a mass fisting of consumers?

This was brought up on here a few times over the Napster debate where the court said that the record companies had to show proof of copyright over the music that was being traded.

Why hasn't Intel or someone testifying against this brought that up. Wouldn't that be an ace in the hole?

Here's a pick up line that actually seems to work on the hunny's (pun intended). So when you're feeling ballsy enough to and "Wanna come back to my place and see my Linux box?" isn't working, give it a try:

"If I was a Pooh bear would you let me lick your hunny pot?"

  22. Why CD's cost more than they do to make. on RIAA Almost Down To Pre-Napster Revenues · · Score: 1

I couldn't find the /. article that was posted in the last 3 months b/c it seems every time I try to search I just get stories about Linux. GEEKS.

Anyway just remember that you're not paying for a plastic disc with a metallic insert. You're paying for the producers, musicians, technicians and also the suits who give them all money up front to make the record.

And why'll they do make more in return than the musicians or anyone else, that's how the industry works. If you have a better plan change it or stop bitching and buy cd's from local bands and don't touch the commercial stuff.

It doesn't prove anything about our "judicial system." It just proves that perhaps there's something wrong with the people running it. DUH.

People make careers out of being politicians, law makers, law enforcers. It's a job for them and it's something they don't want to lose. So if you're in an elected/appointed position you do what you can to stay "employed."

Our judicial system as it is on the books is something that is tried and true (over 200 years without any major overhauls.) The only thing that's changed since then is the people.
