I work in a call center, my first call today, which set the tone for the whole fuckin day, was a woman who didn't use "the osss X because it is unfriendly" swear to god, direct quote, emphasis on the oss or however the southerners say it.
All things considered, I'd rather have none of palm's usb port monitoring software on my usb ports. Sync over serial is fast enough as long as you aren't switching out several megs at a time. Besides, avantgo takes the most time during a sync.
check out firedaemon, lets you run progs as a service under 2k / nt, also lets you assign processors per service, priorities etc only thing is, if the seti client can't find a wu, it quits, writes an error to the app log, firedaemon restarts it, etc etc and the app log fills up damn fast. firedaemon is also quite stable. I'm lazy google the thing:)
At least seti@home seems to finally solved their bandwidth problem. I lack a heater in this particular part of the house so athlons must do, its nice that they will run toasty just in time for fall. I'm running most of my clients under 2k and stopped for a time because of the problems they were having. (writing hundreds of entries to event logs [oh no! we can't connect] is a really, really annoying thing)
So I tried to join the army engineer corps (demolition) and like, they said I failed the psyc test because I had a destructive personality. Well, like WTF did they expect? Shit. They didn't even mention my dedication, I had the chemical formulas for RDX and C4 memorized.
But seriously, who cares about baseball anymore. It's not like the strike of '95ish didn't kill attendance at games, and there are more exciting sports to watch (australian rules "football" for example). Most of the people I know think baseball is a pain in the ass in the tv schedule, with games running 9 or whatever-the-hell extra innings.
That said, this is a brilliant move on their part, nothing like pissing off hardcore fans to drum up hatred against the the MLB and lower their tv ratings to the level of donahue's new show.
heh, kill my karma and mod me flamebait

But that is suprisingly good dental work for a brit!
I dunno, I somehow doubt this would be legit, I'd expect the asteroid to come out of the sky going a lot faster - hell, terminal velocity for a human body is like 400kph (could be mph / completely wrong), this thing would probably have a lot less drag and I'm sure that you wouldnt be able to see it fall. Any physics people want to correct me? I wonder if this is like me holding quarters about a lighter for 30 seconds and throwing them in a crowd. . . not that I've ever done that. ..
I find it kinda cool that nobody (*in recorded history*) has ever been killed by a meteorite. If you're bored,/. this guy's server and kill some asteroids. http://www.brudirect.com/LighterSide/G ames/game%20 asteroid%20shower.htm
And everything that people are illegally doing today, they will be doing tomorow, same goes for whatever you and your whored congresscritters decide is illegal tomorow. Get with the fucking program.
Not to complain too much, but check the date at the top of the article (thats what 10-99 is in case you are wondering). nevertheless, quite cool. and though their website looks pretty lame at a first glance, its interesting to read, http://www.artificialvision.com/index.html The videos (which will be/.'ed but hey) are hella cool, esp the simulation of what the patient sees http://www.artificialvision.com/vision/video .html
I don't want to start a flame war or anything, but the pc they were comparing the new G4 to was a goddamn dell, just a small point I want to raise. Dell machines are not known for speed, or anything besides cheap hardware. . .
Yet Qwest is still doing what they have been doing for the past several years. I rather like how they handle the situation, have shitty customer / telecom service, get fined, go to court, negotiate w/ govt, say that they will add more phone / data lines to rural areas (which they were already planning to do anyways), get their fines reduced and pay almost nothing. That and piss away shareholder money like a college student at a kegger, forcibly switch their dsl customers to MSN, and sell your personal information. Same shit, bigger pile methinks.
(perhaps I'm still a little bitter about the whole msn thing)
Knowing the bookstores in colleges, they will be able to charge the same wonderfully high prices for books that can be used for only one year. Personally, I'm broke, and have, on more than one occasion, gone to the library to check out a textbook held on reserve instead of spending $100 for a fucking math (ya, lots of work went into those) text that I will never use again. That said, consoles and wireless = hella cool, tho I have to wonder about the speed of the network w/a lot of people.
parent modded redundant, now thats some funny shit.

you're a fucking vegan, aren't you? Stop using my fucking air
A fucking ugly one. Perhaps she is taking the hormones.
methinks you're missing the point, you can actually change the "ready" and other messages on the printer itself. "79 Service" seems to be a fun one.
hmm, I got a palm m105 at office depot for $30 after $30 rebate, coupon and pricematch about 3 weeks ago.

I somehow doubt that the justices will be impressed by printouts of ascii porn.
naah, fuck knives, "everyday blunt instruments" (lamps, bats, etc) is what you are looking for - much more amusing.

I thought it was "ran down the crack of your mommas ass and ended up as a brown stain on the mattress"
but ya, that also works.
i think "wrap my head around" pretty much summed it up.
leave the poor reefer alone, he was baked out of his skull when he wrote that. . .

1 mb extra L3 too, and a few other features.
