Not to mention the fact that it was very babelicious.
Oh, and let's not forget the Basil Poledouris soundtrack
I think you two are missing the point... people aren't talking about being entertained. They're talking about sticking to the original work. In the case of Starship Troopers, the book and movie were completely different. That's what everyone has a problem with.
Did anyone else think of CARR from Knight Rider? I could just imagine CARR saying that after attempting to negotiate the course. He wasn't the brightest compared to KITT.
The only downside is the screen is very small so if you're at all far sighted, it's hard to read. Not a problem for her so she's happy.
I wouldn't say it's the only downside. The graphics capabilities are quite slim, crippling an otherwise decent laptop.
I will admit I was surprised the first time I closed the lid and forgot about it. It didn't look like it lost any battery power whatsoever in the 10-12 hours I left it on.
"I bet you $10 that if this guy lost his job, his money, and his health insurance, he'd be voting Democrat this election."
To switch your vote to meet your financial situation would clearly show a lack of principles. In this case, switching your vote to Democrat would be quite appropriate.
I'm betting a fair share of military folks can drum up far worse situations than that of the poster.
The only one I could think of for me that was semi-bad was working the flightline next to a mine field and a trash burning facility (think aroma of toxic fumes all day). And just for fun, add smell of urine, since everyone pissed in the work area since nobody wanted to gamble on where the mines started. The noise level wasn't anything spectacular, just the usual jet engines and such.
But hey, I'm only Air Force, and for the most part we're pansies compared to the other armed forces, right? The parent post certainly has me beat by a long shot...
I don't get it... why do people have all these anecdotes about annoying salespeople trying to sell them things they don't want? What do you people look like?
I have *never* in my life had a salesperson do this to me. In fact, they seem to avoid me like the plague... something which is bothersome since I often have one important question: "Where can I find widgets?" or "Do you guys have gizmos?"
Well spoken. It's nice to see some clear examples instead of "AMD sucks".
But, being the AMD fan I am, I must say that perhaps your problems are more due to bad luck than anything, since RMA rates for motherboards are significantly higher than other components.
And so this brings me to a question... is there a site that gives statistics on RMA rates?

In 1992, he served 50 days in jail on a charge related to failing to deliver documents to a group of investors. Two years later he was convicted of falsifying documents that defrauded banks and was ordered to pay $74,000 in restitution.
"I was in a bad business with bad partners," he said.
Have you even read the benchmarks THG between the P4 and the Athlon XP 64/64 FX they did after it was released? They show how well the Athlon 64 chips do against the higher-clocked P4's, and consistenly recommend AMD's as more bang for your buck.
First of all, according to the department of labor, the unemployment rate is currently at 6.1% with 8.9 million unemployed. If the '2 million telemarketers' figure is actually correct (1.4% of the workforce??), then the unemployment rate would be 7.5% at worst.
Second of all, get a clue...it's obviously not going to have nearly the same effect as laying off 2 million *productive* people. We're talking about a low-paying job, which, at best, generates some small amount of consumerism.
But this is besides the point: it's a public nusiance. Any claims of economical benefit can and should be ignored.
The Internet has damaged me, but I've also learned everything I know thanks to it. And yes, that doesn't include the ability to write coherent sentences.

It's a matter of principle.

Damn, that was funny. Whoever modded that as a Troll needs to lighten up.

What I want to see are the REAL lists... not some made-for-public-consumption, disgusting pop-culture crap.
This reminds me of a 2600 'article' entitled "Spying on Yahoo", which clearly showed how fucked up searches really are.
The real top searches would be humorous... the ones they posted are just plain pathetic.

Are you talking about this article?: AMD's Athlon 64 Has Arrived: the Athlon 64 FX and Athlon 64 (and Intel's P4 Extreme) Reviewed
First, there's no mention of "more bang for your buck" in said article.
And while they do "show how well the Athlon 64 chips do against the higher-clocked P4's", they summarize it as such:
"Summary: The P4 3.2 EE wins 32 times, the Athlon 64 FX-51 15 times - an uncertain 64-bit future for AMD"
It reads like they're heralding AMD's demise!

Of course, why wouldn't I?
