While I can sort of understand that with PC games where you can easily read a PDF with console games it is different.
Plus as a very casual gamer I often forget which buttons do what, so I always have the manual open with the basic controller layout.
On the other hand, games nowadays are so "easy" that there is not much manual needed. Back in the days the manuals had to describe tons of shit you could do and the tons of keyboard shortcuts there were (just remember TIE Fighter).
One good thing with PDF manuals is, that you can copy them into your google docs account and then have them with you wherever you go (if you actually need them;)
Dell had pretty decent 24 Inch 1920x1200 displays on sale for a long time. Mine is 4 years old and since then nothing has changed. Actually we went down to x1080. I wished there would be something with 24Inch but a much higher resolution, especially height.
The only alternative is to have two 24inch in a portrait rotation, but that makes them too tight for actual work.
But the market sells what the market wants. And there is (outside of design, cad, medical) no market for it.
Especially since more and more laptops are sold and their display often ends with x800 or so, which is horrible for me, but seems to be okay for everyone else...

Yes.
As a human you need too much shit to survive. Air, Food, Water, Light, etc. Plus travel time from here to there... way cheaper to send more robots if one breaks. or have a repair bot...
It doesn't change the fact that this is an engineering sample. Normally nobody will have one. Then complain about Windows it doesn't work with it, is really stupid.
With linux you might get similar errors and I doubt anyone will care about. Why would anyone support an engineering sample... useless code that might make other more important things break.
Actually 10.6 did a lot under the hood. Please read the arstechnica article for more detail.
And if the MacBook/Mac Pro hasn't had an update, well, what should they update. Intel just released the next generation 6 core CPUs. There is not much sense to update if there is no new hardware.
On the other hand Iphone is a cash cow, so they probably put more resources there. At the end, the shareholders just want to get rich.
They can just come over to Austria, some villages there have parts on both side of the border. The law is just stupid and idiotic. What would stop one ordering games online, the post won't check all packages coming from Europe.
This is just a stupid ridiculous near minded law unable to actually control.
Same with china. different color, same shit for Software development. But it is, oh so cheap... The fact that you waste double the time fixing the things they half assed implemented...
Unless the other side (eg China) doesn't give a flying rats ass about any ACTA or whatever. They have more paying consumers over there than in US. Probably 90% have less cash, but if China makes their own cheap DVD knock offs (which they do) to avoid payment then no hollywood studio is seeing much money, nor any hardware maker.
ACTA works only for country who already abide to copyright laws. And none of them do have much production left anyway. This is just "get the lawyers some money" scheme.
Would be interesting if the english gets translated correctly into japanese and then translated back by google. Might yield better results. Just translation back and forth between the same system will yield strange results.
Biggest problem is, that if you give google just one sentence and not the whole context it will never be able to translate it correctly. Especially with languages that build on a lot of context in text and conversation.
Well, we back from good old Europe have a very different view of the gouverment. Nor will they every come up with any "intelligent Design" BS.
Because religion is a minority here. None will ever state anything like "God bless us" or something similar.
Things just run different here.
Oh, and who here can homeschool their kids? The amount of home-stay moms is a very very minority. Mostly rich ones, and they are the last who would homeschool their kids.
Well the "why does this person know my friend" is often very surprising.
Last time I met a girl on a party and when I later added her on facebook I found out she is a good friend of a friend of mine.
Or once two of my friends both wrote a comment to one of my post and found out that they were former classmates. Facebook can be fun.
As long as you shut out any of the default "optin" stuff that promotes your profile to outside search or links with some "webservice foo"

System Shock 1 had that feature. The mouse controlled where you shot and the keyboard how moved and looked.
MD5 is not an encryption.

This is not a Flamebait. Just tells the truth.
Did winamp run on Mac? No, so doesn't count. iTunes was new for the Mac folks.
How does seeing what is searched from a smartphone help build a better smartphone?

So whats a real computer than? Linux? or Windows?
I use a Mac, because Linux is completely useless on the desktop (unless you like wasting your time with getting things done) and I don't get Windows.
But whatever will happen, there are always people hating or overloving one system. Something I never get.
Actually this is what I did with ff. I search with the normal URL bar.
no scripting language has any difference in there. neither perl, ruby, php, etc has that.
And seriously knowing the difference between int and float and bigint, etc has nothing to do with math. That is something you learn in CS classes.
haha, that one phrase is the only thing I know of that show. Only because a friend told me about it. Funny to read that here.
I disagree. Math is not essential for a programmer, unless the program to be written requires math.
In my 12 year career my math comes down to some percent calculations for some basic stats.

yeah, so that's why everyone used VGAcopy
Or it could go in the other way. Why should I work my ass of when my CEO gets millions of $ for driving the company into the dirt.

That is why I do not own a gaming PC anymore, just a normal console. For the view times a month when I have time to play.
