Well the "why does this person know my friend" is often very surprising.

Last time I met a girl on a party and when I later added her on facebook I found out she is a good friend of a friend of mine.

Or once two of my friends both wrote a comment to one of my post and found out that they were former classmates. Facebook can be fun.

As long as you shut out any of the default "optin" stuff that promotes your profile to outside search or links with some "webservice foo"

  2. No more manuals on Ubisoft Says No More Game Manuals · · Score: 1

While I can sort of understand that with PC games where you can easily read a PDF with console games it is different.

Plus as a very casual gamer I often forget which buttons do what, so I always have the manual open with the basic controller layout.

On the other hand, games nowadays are so "easy" that there is not much manual needed. Back in the days the manuals had to describe tons of shit you could do and the tons of keyboard shortcuts there were (just remember TIE Fighter).

One good thing with PDF manuals is, that you can copy them into your google docs account and then have them with you wherever you go (if you actually need them ;)

Dell had pretty decent 24 Inch 1920x1200 displays on sale for a long time. Mine is 4 years old and since then nothing has changed. Actually we went down to x1080. I wished there would be something with 24Inch but a much higher resolution, especially height.

The only alternative is to have two 24inch in a portrait rotation, but that makes them too tight for actual work.

But the market sells what the market wants. And there is (outside of design, cad, medical) no market for it.

Especially since more and more laptops are sold and their display often ends with x800 or so, which is horrible for me, but seems to be okay for everyone else ...
