(if you don't believe step 5, put in Animal Crossing, wait til the title screen comes up, take out the disc, and press reset. You can still play, without any need to put the disc in again.) I've had the same game booted on several GCs before with that little trick. It comes from being an N64 game originally, so it's small enough to be entirely loaded in the GC's memory.
Which also explains why the graphics look a bit like canned ass.. Great game, though.
Hell, file_id.diz has been in almost every file I've downloaded since I started using PCs. I've never understood what.diz stood for though: is it "distro" or something?
Ever since I left the US, I've been looking for a Netflix-like service to replace them (yes, Netflix will ship to APO as well, but it's not worth it.)
They even pass the acid test - they still have La Blue Girl on the list. Interesting story - when I was still a member of Netflix, I worked my way through their completed anime series. I went through LBG, then decided maybe I'd get something else in the same line.
So I went looking for Cool Devices. No go. Couldn't find it. But it was there two months ago, wtf? Searched for LBG... it also returned no matches.
Then I went to look in my email for the "You have returned" message and followed the link. They still had a page for it, but it was now marked "Unavailable". Obviously they caved to some idiot with their head up their ass who was bitching about porn.
But this place even has anime that I thought wasn't coming out until next week! Kick ass!
Hell, I do everything as admin. (I know I shouldn't, but it's a pain in the ass to set permissions up so I can even touch 90% of my stuff)
And again, I haven't ever been hit by a virus. Hell, I went 4 years with the same data drive, downloading stuff from all sorts of shady sites, etc (basically doing all the stuff that's supposed to GIVE YOU A VIRUS IF YOU EVEN THINK ABOUT IT OMG) and then went out and found a virus scanner just so I could see how many I didn't know about.
It found... 1. The one that I knew was there, and had it there for people who especially bothered me. What the hell does everyone else do wrong?
Actually, I remember hearing that a) XP (and perhaps 2k) have IPv6 support built in, you just have to enable it, and b) Server 2k3 has it enabled by default...
some of the cheaper media (e.g. Ritek) can go on you like crazy I'd like to point out that Ritek is widely accepted as some of the BEST media out there. It's even more reliable than a lot of labeled media. And the purple is so dreamy...:p
Because the concept of the game is sound, it's just the music which is crap. Any hints of something like this in the works somewhere? How can you say that about DDR music? It rocks to all hell. But then, there are those (strange) people who don't like Eurodance, so...
Anyway, go check out StepMania or Dance With Intensity. SM is open-source, but I prefer DWI because of the arcade similarity.
You can find various DWI files scattered through the 'net; some places to look are ddrei.com and ddruk.com...
Sorry, you apparently never played DDR Dance Magic. (I believe it was the battle-mode in Disney Mix)
This is a really cool idea, and I wish DDR had run with it (it would make tournaments VERY VERY INTERESTING) but it's not new. That doesn't mean the game isn't cool, though. I need my DC sent to me so I can get it.:)
But what about Kazaa? Doesn't it have a central server?
In any case, this is a great victory for the p2p community. It also shows that the RIAA/MPAA aren't all-powerful and that we can win if we just use the law against them.:)
Scryed. Mahou ni Taisetsu na Koto. Ai Yori Aoshi. Chobits. These are some of the recent anime I've watched that fall into "Above-Average" category. Below are the two that I think fall into "Oh My God" category.;)
His and Her Circumstances. Also known as Kare Kano, this is the Gainax take on romance. What comes out is a totally hilarious and yet serious anime. Very well done, especially since Right Stuf did the dub VERY VERY well. You can't even tell the difference in inflection between the Japanese and English voices.
Hikaru no Go. Only in anime could one write an entire series about a traditional board game and make it incredibly suspenseful. Every damn episode has ended on a note that made me really, really want to stay up another half hour and watch the next one.
Sure, you have to watch the subtitled versions of a lot of anime to get anything good out of it. But anime has definitely not "jumped the shark" yet, any more than live-action movies have.
Anyway, I wanted to see something truly intelligent, animation wouldn't be the first place I looked...
And we have a winner for the "Standard American Opinion of Animation" award.:)
most of the anime we get is targeted at middle school students in japan While this is true, a lot of the stuff they target at their middle schoolers, content-wise, is actually more likely stuff we'd target at the high end of high school here.
I've never thought of genes as a patentable thing. Sure, they allow patents, but WHY? They didn't invent it, they DISCOVERED it, and last I checked you couldn't patent a discovery such as a law of nature.
Hmm. That's it, I'm patenting the Laws of Thermodynamics. Now you have to continue attempting to make a perpetual motion machine, because if you use my laws to find out that it's impossible, you have to pay me royalties! Ha!
Bleh. Patenting something created in nature is... ugh. Let's patent the leaf next!
I mean, really. I see these people jumping around like morons, and while it's entertaining to watch, it's also a sad commentary at how few people realize how trivially easy it is to beat the game by simply changing the play methodology away from the expected.
This is like saying you beat a marathon by using a car. "I see these people running like morons, and while it's entertaining to watch, it's also a sad commentary at how few people realize how trivially easy it is to win the race by simply changing the travel methodology away from the expected."
Get a grip. You can't "beat" this game. The only way to beat it in any way possible is to AAA every song on the hardest modifiers possible.
I guess you tried only beginner level songs? Because as far as I can figure, that method only works to level 3 (3 foot) songs. Try something a little more challenging.
Yes, you can beat the game in five minutes... BECAUSE FIVE MINUTES IS ALL YOU GET TO PLAY.
Yugh. I spend a month and a half getting to the point where I can finish 9 foot songs, (catastrophic) and have lost about 5 pounds in the process. (I wasn't exactly overweight to begin with, but I did have a little bit of a gut..) I've had the time of my life playing this game; in my consideration it's the best game of all time.
The PSone also dropped in price a few days ago to $49. This is seriously making me look at my 300 bucks that I have left and wonder if I can survive on 20 for the rest of the summer:P
The issue with the Xbox is there just aren't that many good games out for it... the PS2 on the other hand...

Nintendo announces their next generation system's name. It's going to be called the NES.

Nah. We'd go to a dance club, but "Perfect!! Perfect!! Great!" don't appear in front of your face when you're on beat...
In order for it to boot, it has to have one of two images in the IP.BIN file - either "Licensed by Sega" or "Licensed by Sega - Windows CE".
If it has an image that deviates from either one of these, it WILL NOT BOOT. Period. The DC has a version that it checks against in ROM.
So, they ARE using Sega IP. Whether Sega chooses to go after them, is another story, and something I highly doubt will happen.

Have you actually watched any kids cartoons lately?
:)
While I concede that Pokemon is recent...
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles -- lots of fighting
TMNT hasn't been shown on TV in years. It kicked ass, though.
Scryed. Mahou ni Taisetsu na Koto. Ai Yori Aoshi. Chobits. ;)

Curious, that...
Wala, you now have rights to that hotmail account
w00p! w00p! Stupid person alert!
I feel the need to inform you that the correct spelling of that word is voila. Look it up sometime. Bleh.
Wal-Mart... but... Linux PCs... but... Wal-Mart... but... Linux PCs....

I cheated ... there WAS an automated voice mail thing that rose from the ashes of the actual Counselor's Corner service in Nintendo Power.
:)
Whenever I was stuck on a game, I'd get a hint from there. Was quite the lifesaver on dungeon 9
now can we PLEASE have OGG support? :)
Very interesting... you have to disable referrer logging (thank you, Opera F12 menu) to get there from here... :P
Only in America would people cheer and applaud a cinema screen! (its only a moving picture not real people.)
Yeah, because only in America are we able to suspend our disbelief and actually get INTO a movie. Yeesh....

is monitor LED monitoring so we can find out if the monitor's actually ON or not! Yeah!
Wasn't this posted, like, months ago?
