As a former desktop support monkey, this is the excuse to give the caller that you'd love to stay on the line with them, but since it takes an hour, it'd be unfair to make other callers wait. Then once he's off the line, you can be on break/at lunch/busy so some other Help Desk monkey has to take the follow up call when everything is now broken.
What? You thought we actually had you run defrag to help your computer. No, no, no. That was just to get you off the line...silly user...
Except...its WITHOUT the backend of servers. At least the demo I saw. I application "bubble" lived on the workstation. You could use the virtualized app disconnected from everything. Need to uninstall? delete the bubble. No registry to cleanup. No stray files. Its like one big self contained.exe at its simplest level of explanation.
Exactly. When my wife wanted an MP3 player I wasn't about to jump on the whole iPod bandwagon. I went with a nicely spec'ed Creative Model that ran about$40 or $50 less than the comparable iPod and had some feature that Apple didn't.
Creative even had a line of accessories that I'd be able to buy and really get what she (I) wanted in an MP3 player.
Well, the "Accessories" never really materialized. A few made it to eBay, but we overpriced IMHO. and there is now no convenient docking solution for her MP3 player that doesn't involve plugging in a stereo jack to the headphone plug. And then another cable to power jack if she actually wants to charge it. Oh and the USB cable if we're talking about syncing. Too much for her to want to deal with.
SO...I'll end up buying her an iPod at some point and a docking speaker system or two and then I'll get myself a gently used 40gb MP3 player that I'll probably just pull apart for the HDD.
and install XP. That's what my corp is having to do. Can't buy XP licenses any more, but Microsoft will sure let us buy the Vista license and install XP.
I finally hit the nerdvana of my phone, my mp3 player, my wife's phone, my GPS, and Camera all charging/data transferring off of a Mini-USB connector. That means ONE car adapter plugged in and only ONE 3 foot usb cable to toss in with the laptop and leave the wall warts at home.
If I didn't have to factor the charging form-factor into purchase decisions, it would be much easier. It isn't a deal breaker, but it was the deciding factor on my current phone.
Because THEIR code that they are running is leaky and doesn't play well with others. Its so much easier to blame the shortcomings of their software on the underlying OS that "everybody knows is just plain Buggy."
You do realize that Reddit is back up today? Right?
Oh for the want of Mod Points.
Thank you.
Step 2 ?????
That's the problem here.
I used to bullseye womp rats in my T-16 back home, they're not much bigger than two meters.
Devo was right about everything.
The future is now.
That's all I have to say. One of the actual PURCHASED games I had for the C=64. Good Times.
Gotta go hunt down a Wumpus.
They own it already? Well, a majority stake anyway.

They finally came out with an uninstaller for it. Quick and easy, but back up all your data as it wipes the entire flash drive.
If only I'd remember to log in everytime my consecutive days would be through the roof

Paint.Net for the Win.
Does it do everything I need? No. Does it do most of what I need? Yes.
Price point can't be beat for those of us stuck in the Windows world at work and need something to tweak the occasional photo and the like.

You're underestimating how to use a calculator by over 80%.

Sigh. So much for my blow for independence.
I have that SAME microwave and was about to gripe about the same thing.
I often wonder if that was why it was on clearance...
well, if he is standing 20 years in front of you, I'm sure weapon advancements would nullify any protection it gives today.

'nuff said.
Sadly, I'm two states away from any and I'm down to my last six bottles. Saving those for the next remodeling project.
I thought only old people in Korea used ActiveX components.
