No shit, Sherlock. It weathers (decomposes) rapidly in water on a geologic timescale on the order of thousands of years. You do know what a geologic timescale is? I knew about the olivine sand beaches in Hawaii. Eventually it'll converts to things like hematite. Maybe, if you'd actually read any one of the articles I linked to, you might know what you are talking about. Given your astounding ignorance I'm not sure you are capable of it.
Why not cordless phones? Some use the same frequencies (2.4GHz).
Can skulls really 'absorb' EM radiation?
Put your head in a microwave and see how much radiation your head can absorb.
I suppose your skull could act as a resonant cavity. Let's say your skull is 9 inches deep and 7 inches wide. For a quarter wavelength that would correspond to a frequency range of 300 to 400 MHz. Even a baby's skull 3-6 inches, 560-900 MHz.
There's still this pesky little thing called olivine, a volcanic rock. It's an interesting mineral in that it decomposes rapidly in water, and Mars is covered with thousands and thousands of square miles of it. There is water on Mars, perhaps, not as much as news stories in the press would imply, but the olivine puts an upper limit on the amount of water Mars has had in it's past. I want to know how the scientists can square the evidence of water and the olivine. There have been different epochs in Mars' past. I suppose it's possible that after Mars' wet period ended where most water either froze or evaporated and disassociated with the hydrogen escaping into space then there was a period of volcanism that covered large areas of Mars with olivine. Sadly, I'm not familiar with the sequence of what was formed when. It is hard to date the surface of Mars except in general terms.
There may have been life on Mars. There may be significant amounts of water in the form of ice on Mars. It's exciting and it will take a long time to sort the geologic or areology of Mars. We should be going to explore Mars because it is an interesting world, not because it might have water or harbored life. Those discoveries are the icing on the cake. Because if those are the reasons we go an don't find anything, that will tell us something, but we will be disappointed and may not be able to get public support nor the tax dollars for future missions. We should look for evidence of life and water, but that shouldn't be our sole focus nor should we expect to find either.
The dollar has lost so much value it's no suprise that it's going to start at $175. I think they should have called it the €100 euro laptop. I heard they expected after mass production for it go from $100 down to $50. It'll get their eventually.
The FDA has already done such a bang up job on identifying melamine in wheat, rice, and/or corn gluten. If they had such success with pet food, why not chocolate? Or should we turn to the USDA to help with our organic chocolate. After all they want to help improve the quality of our organic coffee.
I agree. Whitespace is very important. I prefer to have decent margins and padding when I create web pages and I tend to use san-serif fonts for readablity. Also fixed-width is very important too. It's harder to read wide columns. Another good place to start is A List Apart, but there are other good resources as well.
Since the vast majority of annoying (or really annoying) ads use flash, I use flashblock. I don't use adblock. I can ignore most ads. With flashblock I can allow flash on sites that I want either all the time or on a per instance basis.
At our university a lot of students bought or got brand new Vista laptops over the Christmas holidays and lo and behold they could no longer use the Cisco VPN client (4.8.01.0300) supposedly their is a beta that sorta works. We also found out a vendor called Examsoft which allows students to take tests on their laptop also wasn't compatible with Vista and there was no ETA when it would be.
Corn based ethanol is a very bad way to go. Biodiesel is better. It still takes petroleum based fertilizers, pesticides, and petroleum fueled tractors to grow it and then there's all the water required to process the corn and coal used to power the ethanol plants. Then you can't transport ethanol in the same infrastructure as gasoline because of water. It corrodes pipes and sucks up water. The energy density is lower than gasoline.
Butanol does have it's own problems but is far more promising biofuel than corn based ethanol. Butanol can use the same transport infrastructure and car engines require almost no modification to burn pure butanol whereas an ethanol engine would. It along with biodiesel can make a viable alternative for biofuels.
Conservation and fuel efficiency should be the first step in reducing our dependency on foreign oil while we look for viable alternatives including mass transit.
Blue Öyster Cult wrote a song called Joan Crawford with the wonderful refrain "Joan Crawford has risen from the grave." And after Joan Wikipedia can resurrect Richard Nixon.
If I understood what you were saying, then you might have a point.
Are saying that the Earth is warming due to human activity? Or are you saying that the Earth isn't warming? Or are you saying human activity isn't having an impact on the Earth's climate? Or are you saying that there is no inverse relationship between the number of pirates and global temperature? Because if you are and I think you must be, then the Flying Spaghetti Monster will not be pleased. Well, he/she/it may not care.

A lot like Senator McCarthy said I have the names of 57 communists in the State Dept. Anyway, that was mighty white of MS not to sue Linux.

Why aren't their any Uranus could harbor life jokes?
I think it would be perfectly reasonable for a company to do a thorough body cavity search as well. Yeah, and monkeys might fly out my butt.
Sounds like that HBO exec needs some DRM, Digital Rectal Massage, buy a couple guys with baseball bats who thinks he sure has a pretty mouth.
Retiring IT workers now have a choice of two places they can go. Renew at Logan's Run or find yourself in Soylent Green.
The only ten dollar laptop I know of involves a stripper named Candy.
You aren't supposed to let them know we know.

They need to send Bill Gate's monkey into space first. You know Steve Ballmer.

Now if they'll just ban extremely loud stereos in cars. Or issue portable EMP guns to disable them.

At last we know the real reason what awoke Godzilla.
Watch Ballmer do the monkey dance and you decide. Yeah, yeah, I know. I've posted it before, but it's so much fun to watch.
