Okay, this, to me (as a DJ) is pretty retarded. Why wouldn't they just include a CD with the vinyl? Why should I have to download anything? Seems like a waste of bandwidth to me. CDR's costs nothing to make.
Real DJ's want the original vinyl, but most still end up converting them to some sort of digital format if they do a lot of traveling (vinyl weighs a TON). It seems to me this is an attempt to get the consumer to their website.
As a turntablist I have struggled with the possibility of vinyl analog records someday not being made anymore. I mean, it is not just a hobby for me but a profession. Many audiophiles will say that there is nothing like the warm analog sound of the "needle and grove" combo. Some folks 123 have created a way to control playback of digital audio with turntables using timecoded records. I have played around with them, but they seem to have a "metalic" sound when the program time stretches/compresses the digital audio.
I run several Yahoo! Stores and since we all use Trillian at the office, we have not been able to access our online store back end. It seems that when Trillian tries to connect with Yahoo Messenger, it spams the Yahoo ID and locks it for 12 hours.
The Yahoo! Messenger "section" of Trillian is also causing the program to create errors on load up.
There is information on www.trillian.cc on how to disable the initial connection to Yahoo! messenger.
Some people actually think that getting Utah's legal department will actually help them??? When they cannot even find a 15 year old girl (Elizabeth Smart) in their own state / city???
I think the law officials / officers of this state have some serious egg on their face.
btw, I live in Utah, and I get spammed by the LDS church.... go figure..I must have opted in by getting baptized when I was 8.
