    Why are you getting on his case for NOT having kids? There are repsonsibilities out there that *gasp* don't include kids.

    When people quote these numbers they are pretty much made up. If tehy were true, we'd all be driving BMW's and living in mansions. Not surfing Slashdot while being unemployed.

    I think people are growing wary of "We're going away....unless you pay us this amount" every few months.
    No one wants to get involved with the Perl Journal just to have it go down the tubes yet again. I hate to say it, it's dead. Let it be.

    I have a 56k modem and I get all my updates just fine.

    I am sure they are not as popular but I am sure there are still viruses and things that rely on floppies and other media for propagation. So if you have a machine that gets all its outside data from a floppy, this virii wouldn't be able to be propagated.

    It's not a moral objection to gambling (most of the states either have legalized casinos, legalized dog/horse racing, or state lotteries).

    I'd say it's half and half. We havea State Lottery and there is a push for more, but when it's brought up, people are always NIMBY.

    I've always heard it was beter to take time off bewteen a Bachelor's and Master's so you can get some real world experience. Of course if you are working are you really taking a year off?

    2.2 didn't go right to 2.6 it went to 2.3 which was unstable and then to 2.4 stable to 2.5 unstable. What I am saying is that there was an unstable release between the stable.
