When people quote these numbers they are pretty much made up. If tehy were true, we'd all be driving BMW's and living in mansions. Not surfing Slashdot while being unemployed.
I think people are growing wary of "We're going away....unless you pay us this amount" every few months. No one wants to get involved with the Perl Journal just to have it go down the tubes yet again. I hate to say it, it's dead. Let it be.
I am sure they are not as popular but I am sure there are still viruses and things that rely on floppies and other media for propagation.
So if you have a machine that gets all its outside data from a floppy, this virii wouldn't be able to be propagated.
I've always heard it was beter to take time off bewteen a Bachelor's and Master's so you can get some real world experience. Of course if you are working are you really taking a year off?
2.2 didn't go right to 2.6 it went to 2.3 which was unstable and then to 2.4 stable to 2.5 unstable.
What I am saying is that there was an unstable release between the stable.
Number 2 makes no sense, are you saying that even the people responsible for the release didn't check the MD5 at least daily? If so, why not?

You want to have kids. Great! You want your wife to raise them? Great! But don't be whining about how poor you are.
Well, I'd mind if any PC I had under my control ran as only root.

Not til you were bought by Andover at least!
The big problem was Ann Eppard and Bud Shuster's underhanded way of handing out contacts for teh job.
